Drake is 26-4. 18-0 was Their Best Start in Program History. March 6 NET Ranking: #42. Next Game: NCAA Tournament Round of 64

Ran out of steam. Back to back nights of 5 guys playing 40 minutes killed them. Very tired legs tonight.

Absolutely have to get to the tourney championship game now. Team is running on fumes. Hope they get Tank back in time.

Jerry Palm yesterday had Drake ON THE BUBBLE: Last 4 In.

He had then in the Play In Game as a 12 seed vs 12 seed St Louis in Baylor's Bracket. The winner would play 5 seed Texas Tech.
With a returning Tank, Brodie, Yesofu, and Murphy, I wonder how they would do if they advanced to play TT. Oops, I forgot to mention Sturtz.

Would be an interesting game. Tech plays really good D. Not such a great offensive team.

Will Drake get in? They are one of the Last 4 in, per Lunardi.

What’s crazy is that 10 of the top 16 projected teams are from two conferences.

I think this is what’s wrong with CBB some of these teams have been great all year, might lose their conference tourney on a fluke and boom....they’re on the outside looking in....meanwhile other conferences get 9-10 teams (cough BIG).

I wouldn’t necessarily say wrong because the conference tournaments are up to each individual conference. If the small conferences want to ensure their best team gets in, they should scrap the conference tourney. But they never will because it’s the most tv revenue they’ll get all season.

The tournaments are a necessary evil for the small schools.

If Syracuse sneaks their ass into this thing and faces Drake in the first four, Ima be pissed.

In 1964, Drake and Wichita tied for the Valley and met in Lawrence to determine would get the NCAA bid.

I found my way to Allen Field House. Ralph Miller played a slowdown game and got by Drake. The game was in the 30s.

Kansas was an “18 State”. I had my first LEGAL beer at the Rock Chalk Inn... then headed back to Drake.

The circle is complete. But, I broke 7 ribs on the ice last week, so I won’t be hitch hiking to Indy. That said...Go, Bulldogs. We can do this because they don’t have Dave Stallworth or Nate Bowman any more.

Drake deserves to be in.

Drake was a tough case. Committee looked favorably on them by putting them in. I'm glad they got in. The problem with judging Drake is they had a grant total of 1 win over a team even remotely good, the win over Loyola in OT. Part of is not their fault as due to the pandemic many of the non-con games got cancelled. They did play K-State, but K-State ended up being bad. Other than Loyola, the best win Drake had was 3 wins over Missouri State (the 88th team in the Pomeroy rankings). By comparison, Nebraska is 95th in Pomeroy rankings.

Drake also lost to Valparaiso, who is flat-out terrible. Hopefully their best player is healthy and can go. Play with a chip on their shoulder and get after it.

Drake got beat 58-50....Wichita held the ball a lot..I think for about 11 minutes in the second half. The next year Wichita finished in the Final 4 I believe. The6 had a lot of talent then.
