"who may be gone in 3 years if he doesn’t start winning."

Or gone in 3 if he does start winning, I was going to say that nobody goes there to win and stay but I couldn't find the last won to win enough.

Stanley is going to the NFL?

News to me. All I saw was beatching about his deep ball and how he holds the ball too long.

Of course, you all beatch about Ferentz and then forget.

It's part of the Iowa experience.

So we are all in on Stanley? LOL

What are we playing here? Dude, get a life. Last 2 Iowa QB’s are solidly in the NFL. Stanley will be drafted. Going to gomerville would be the last place to go if he wanted to prepare for the NFL.
Who are the last two Iowa QB's in the NFL ? Hope you're not trying to take credit for JR, he's a Michigan man.

Gold team, don't you mean wet dream? Unfortunately for you golden domers you guys are writing checks that your football team can't cash. Lol and yes barring injury Nate Stanley will be in the NFL.

A total of 2 coaches with a record above .500. They were fired.

What do you not understand? The last 2 Iowa QB’s are Beathard and Rudock. Pretty simple.
Sorry the numbers show his best year was at Michigan and it's not even close. Michigan gets credit for putting JR in the NFL.

Actually #s are pretty close if you consider that JR missed 1 1/2 games due to injury vs Pitt (2nd half) and Purdue game. Plus the disaster of a bowl game vs Tenn where he split time with CJ. Looking at stats CJ had 650 yards and 5 tds so combine his and Jake's numbers in 14' it is almost identical to Jake's senior year stats at Michigan. Yes he had a better senior year at Michigan than Jr year at Iowa but let's be honest it's not like he made a huge jump in #s from one year to the next. Plus the big factor he left Iowa because he wasn't the best QB on the roster and CJ proved that with his 15' season.

I wouldn't be giving Michigan and the QB whisper Harbaugh all the credit as we've all seen how his QBs have done the last 2 years which is nothing special. Plus one could argue that Michigan had better skill position players in 15' than Iowa in 14'. End of the day Jake's talent got him to the NFL and his 4 years at Iowa helped just like the exposure he got with all the attention Michigan football had in 15' with Harbaugh's return (i.e. ESPN 24/7 Michigan coverage) and improving upon his previous year and maybe just maybe both can get some credit on it.

I guess the real answer would be if he ever had to do one of those introductions like they do on Sunday Night Football (which I'm not holding my breath he's doing any time soon). Wonder what Jake would say? Would he go the HS route? Or mix it up as Russell Wilson always says he's "from a Wolfpack full of Badgers" giving a shout out to both NC State and Wisconsin.

So let's cross our fingers that if the Lions are going to play on Sunday Night football that Matt Stafford gets injured week before so we can finally get the answer.

Rudock is Iowa and Michigan.
I understand what you're saying and to some point agree. Only I feel anyone who watched JR at Iowa could see he was coached(Thank you Greg Davis) to be Captain check down. He didn't start throwing the ball down field till he played at Michigan. You don't play in the NFL by throwing check downs.

Did Rudock start at quarterback for Iowa before Nate Stanley and CJ Beathard did, yes or no? If yes, is he in the NFL? If yes, is he one of the last two quarterbacks (excluding the currently enrolled Stanley) at the University of Iowa who is currently in the NFL?

Tom Brady would like to speak to you....

And that is what Iowa would become if they where quick to the trigger every year that the fans unrealistic expectations are not met.

In order for us to "become that" our ad would have to hire and fire 7 poor coaches in a row. If you think so poorly of the AD why are you not the flag barrier for getting them removed. Failing to do something because of fear of failure is failing without even getting a chance. We can offer many things those turnstile teams cannot and if being ok with "good" keeps you from being "great" you are not as good as you think you are .

His mom is MN alum that's why they're getting a shot at him. Nebraska QB room is way too full, would of thought Iowa could get him but he doesn't just want to hand it off. Iowa needs to stick to their bread and butter running game, instead of committing to a flashier offense just to make some 18 year old happy. Wants that ND offer, no idea what OSU's QB room is like.
His mom is not a MN alum. She went to South Dakota.

"think so poorly of the AD..." ???? I have never said one word about Barta. I actually think he has done a great job over the last number of year...in the minority I guess but I think he has. I think you need to go back and re-read.

You said Iowa would become a turnstile like MN who has had 9 coaches in the time we have had 2. I am saying in order for that too be true the AD would have to go on a hiring and firing streak of epic proportions. If you believe the AD holding the staff to higher standards (read winning percentage) would result in a carousel of coaches, you must not think highly of Bartas hiring abilities. I'll put you like this, Barry A has had to hire several coaches in the last few years. Wisconsin's fans are not worried about going through 9 coaches in 40 years because they trust thier AD. There is something dissimilar with those two outlooks. What would you say it is? The answer is not "they have a larger in state population".

It is the responsibility of the athletic director to hire coaches most likely to bring the program national championships.

It is the responsibility of the coach to bring in the players and create the environment most likely to bring the school national championships.

It is NOT the responsibility of the fans to be happy with winning some games. The admin thinks the PR could use a boost now, think about how many people would tune out if the coaches pre season came out and said "it's our goal to go 7-5".

I think a am also confusing/crossing some info from another thread so my apologies for that.

You could make an argument that his 2014 #s were just as good and possibly BETTER because of all INT’s. Had essentially the same yds per attempt and completion % pretty close. Threw 4 more TD’s BUT turned the ball over with more than twice as much with Int’s+fumbles. Ran for a few more yards in 2014. Pretty laughable to think a guy spends 4 years developing/training under a staff during his biggest “developmental’ years and spends one season under a staff and that staff “gets credit for putting him in the NFL.”

Jake threw the ball downfield at Iowa. Only problem was he couldn’t hit the receiver 90% of the time wide open. How many deep throws did he miss against Nebraska alone? Jake was a big reason why Iowa lost that game when it should of been a blow out and why the coaching staff opened up the competition vs Tennessee in the bowl game.

And that is what Iowa would become if they where quick to the trigger every year that the fans unrealistic expectations are not met.

And... We have a winner! Hopefully the Administration has found a clue. You can't run a program on the cheap, and also fire your way to prosperity. Things are starting to come together. Will it be enough for my Gophers? Yet to be determined.
