The patch is a lot bigger than the hole. He seemed very confident nothing was in there yet. Can't find my photo but the hole in our roof was about half the size of the cardboard patch on your roof.
Apparently the one that tore up our roof looked around and didn't like the place and left. Probably because after tearing a giant hole in the roof it was all wet inside. The patch is a lot bigger than the hole. He seemed very confident nothing was in there yet.
I hope I catch it and I'll put it in McLovin's bed.Apparently the one that tore up our roof looked around and didn't like the place and left. Probably because after tearing a giant hole in the roof it was all wet inside.
So we never had to evict the lady, just repair the roof and all the drywall.

Is it weird that @Moral hasn't been in this thread much?
That's what they tell you.The humane trappers I know drive the animals down to the river and release.

That cardboard ought to keep 'em out. 👌
So the point of the cardboard is to see if they come back. If they go a few days without touching the cardboard, then they f*cked off to somewhere else and the traps are no longer needed. That cardboard ought to keep 'em out. 👌
I'm already getting a roofer to come fix it. Again, as I've said 5 times already, the cardboard is there to see if the raccoons have come back to try to get in, or have moved on.Secured the cardboard with duct tape. Obviously a pro move. It does rain a lot in spring, though, and that taped cardboard might not work so hot for keeping the thunderstorms out.

His neighbors prob have so much cardboard on hand.

the first night he put the cardboard down, the next morning it was shredded to pieces by morning.I get you, man.
But I think the other guy was saying the duct tape wouldn't hold against the asphalt shingles, leading your racoon guy to say, "Ah-ha! Something moved the cardboard!" and then he can charge you more money.

They were trying to get in. The hole is only about 3/4 wide by 4 inches long. About big enough for them to reach their hand through and try to rip at.So, were they trying to get in or get out?
Raccoon guy says he usally goes the cardboard route first, puts down some repellant, and they usually see that a human has messed with it and they leave it alone and move on. Only if they come back and keep working at the hole, he will put traps down. Basically its his test, that if they leave the cardboard alone for 2 days they've moved on and it's safe to go ahead get the hole patched up.They were trying to get in. Raccoon guy is pretty sure it's a very desperate pregnant female trying to find shelter.Maybe if you did like Moral's Racoon Whisperer video they'd leave your roof alone.
Eh, I'm not poor enough to worry about that. It’s really hard to fathom paying someone to do a job that any competent man should easily be able to perform.

Or manly enough, but you do you.Eh, I'm not poor enough to worry about that.
I am doing me. I'm paying someone else to deal with so I don't have to.Or manly enough, but you do you.
I’m aware, you started this stupid non-political thread!I am doing me. I'm paying someone else to deal with so I don't have to.
Will a 22 show up on the shot spotter? @hydro2.0What's more manly?
Building a doghouse for the pregnant 'coon that covers the hole she dug?
Or sitting up on the roof with a gun waiting for her to show up?
🤔
It would be more manly to use a bow and arrow, or a shovel like I did at my FIL’s place. What's more manly?

Truth be told my roof is kind of awkward, and I don't really like climbing up on it. I couldn't get a good look of what I was dealing with from the ground, so my main concern was that they were already in the attic. Now, knowing that they aren't, I prob could have done it myself, but I figured I was looking at a whole ass operation.I’m aware, you started this stupid non-political thread!
