Huh? I am talking about 5 champions in one single NCAA tournament.
I thought the most ever was 5 achieved by Iowa twice and OSU once?
Here's a sobering thought, had PSU only qualified their top 4 point scorers and no one else, they would have finished in second place and lost by just a few points to tOSU
Happy as hell Clark won a title but I have to admit, as much as Gilman rubs me the wrong way at times, he deserved to go out a champion...damn

The point...is talking wrestling....not rubbing it in. I simply said that if Suriano wasn't hurt, PSU could have had six champs. That is a reasonable observation.
Some Penn State fans have come here to celebrate because, as I have said before, Iowa is the gold standard by which all other programs are to be judged. A few may be excessive, but some of the Sandusky related posts in response are disappointing.

You are right. I originally gave PSU the benefit of the doubt. But, recent events (two administrators pleading guilty) are making me doubt my previous convictions.
That being said, neither Cael Sanderson or any of those PSU wrestlers were involved. Joe is dead. So, I don't want to impugn the wrestling team's success with something that has no bearing on their accomplishments.

Really impressed by what Cael and team did tonight, always appreciate great wrestling. Then you have these fans (who have nothing whatsoever to do with the success on the mat) coming over and acting like idiots. I'm trying not to hold it against all Penn State fans but some of you make that very hard.
What if Gilman didn't lose the Cruz, what if the hawks did have a healthy Stoll, what if Kem beat Polacio and pinned Nolf in the finals..."what if game" gets us no where
Old post but solid post. Iowa absolutely is the gold standard in wrestling and PSU is in its own golden age. The back and forth is great. The new rivalry is great. Attacks on sexual child abuse isn't great for anyone

This right here. You think they would act like they've been there before after their 6th title and just want to celebrate that great night by their guys. But I even on BWI, they are over hear and reporting what's said over there.
I don't like the chomo mentions either...had nothing to do with Cael but 86 has said it earlier...it's like kids taunting their Daddy when they beat them in a game of horse so desperate is their need for approval.
BTW, after B1G, BWI was awash in gloom and doom which I thought was funny...told them to step away from the edge because PSU still had it IMO. What you didn't see was a bunch of Iowa fans flooding their space and taunting them.
Maybe this has been mentioned already somewhere but are Okie State fans really such giant dick bags that they couldn't bring themselves to so much as give a polite clap for Cory Clark, of all people? Watching the replay, maybe a fourth of them had any reaction at all after Cory got his hand raised.
