Look at the positives. Iowa will be the record books. Dad (coach) earns two fouls. Player (son of coach) plays 25 minutes without a foul. Pretty sure that’s never been done before.
Oh, so Fran completely losing control is all part of a master plan for him to avoid seeing the eyesore he put together.

If Fran was the coach of say Nebraska or Iowa State, 100% of Iowa fans would think he was a lunatic and an embarrassment.

I haven't watched one conference team who looks like a W.
I think he has worn out his welcome. He was hired when Iowa basketball was at an all time low. He got us moving in the right direction quickly. That’s a lot harder than people realize. But he took us so far and then plateaued. The bottom line was his poor performance in the tourney. And, for me the years the team tanked in post season with Garza, Wieskamp, Murray, etc……well, we can’t expect to win with Perkins, Sandfort, Patrick. They are good players, but at most D1 schools they would be role players at best. Fran has been content to get the best players in Iowa and Iowa isn’t exactly the hotbed of basketball. I appreciate what he did in his first 5 years, but the program has become stagnant.

Yes to our current lineup and we never played enough D with any Fran lineups.
And all we have now are support players while our lead scorer is the worst defensive post player in the conference.
Fran had no business blowing a gasket today. The fouls called were very clear and obvious. He loses credibility reacting against the calls. Glad he got booted.
☝️this. There was little reason to argue. Clear fouls. Calls were not one sided. He had to have preplanned that today.
I think there were a couple things going on here. One, he may have been trying to fire the guys up. Two, Fran does tend to be very protective of his players (maybe a bit too much). Three (and I really think this is what fueled all this). I think with two blowouts in a row, how poorly they have played, maybe, especially Patrick, he just needed to vent. Didn’t agree with him, but I can understand it. At least he didn’t stare down the guy.
Anyone that acts like that at their job would be fired. Especially considering he is representing a state university. If I had to have co workers hold me back as I cursed out another worker, and I did it as often as Fran does. Well, I'd be gone.
It was only the 5th time in 13+ years. heck, if Izzo didn't have the referees in his pocket most every game, he'd have been thrown out of a lot more games then 5 over his tenure at Michigan St.
But as one poster stated above, there was really no reason for Fran to go nuclear as Michigan had taken over the game early in the second half and Iowa's make-up in not going to come back from a 12 point deficit. Fran is just frustrated with how Iowa is trending and he really has no idea how to turn things around with how the roster so poorly put together.
Maybe play a one (Bowen/Harding) two (Perkins, Dix), three (P Sandfort, Dembele, Pr Sandafort), four (Freeman, McCaffrey, Brauns), Five (Krikke, Freeman).
I’d start Bowen, Perkins, Payton, Freeman, and Krikke as the best five of the group but Fran can’t bring himself to not start Patrick.
It’s time for Fran to go after another coach and season of blatant nepotism. I’m over it and tired of it. Add in his over the top tirades, and that he can’t close the deal on top talent for a variety of reasons. It’s time for fresh blood leading the program.

So don't watch, it's as simple as that, watch the Milwaukee Bucks or Arizona or some other College team, it'll keep your blood pressure down also....
haven’t watched the last two games and I have to say it’s been refreshing. The Iowa product has just gotten so stale I’m finally at the I don’t care stage.

it didn’t bother me one bit not seeing the games on BTN+ and most of yesterdays game as I was watching the Vikings and raiders snooze fest. Yeah that should tell you how disinterested I am in iowa basketball right now.
I don’t feel the need to watch some young men run up and down the court not showing any determination or grit whatsoever. It almost reminds me of soccer.
If he was trying to fire up the team, it didn't seem to work. He has zero credibility left with the B1G officiating staff at this point. And did you see Margaret after the second T? Running down to the sidelines to yell at the official. Embarrassing.

Sitting there you could really see the apathy that has set among the fans that did bother to show up.
For years, it seemed there was this thought that somehow it was the fans fault that they weren't showing up to games or getting excited when they did come.
The women's team has clearly shown this is not the case. Carver can be full and loud if they have a team and coach that is, yes... good. But also I think it matters that Bluder has been someone who fits the mold. Fran just never has.

Fran was saying :" six and one" when he was T-'d the 2nd time. HE thought that was one-sided.
I think it was 6-2 at the time, with the 6th being his first T. He was yelling the same at ISU. It's not the officials job to even out the fouls. If you want to complain or ask about a specific call or no-call, you can usually get some engagement from the officials. When you start speaking in generalities, that just sounds like sour grapes.
How much was Iowa down when he got the Ts? If his point was to get the players motivated, you would think he would choose to lose control before the game was out of reach.
You knew the officials were going to be bad when they couldn’t figure out the shot clock expired by Michigan on the first possession with the loose ball. Iowa never had possession, refs said they did and gave it back to Michigan. B1G officials are bad but Fran needs to learn to teach his guys how to play defense, box out, and rebound, not scream at the refs when not bailed out.
I never, ever, ever, ever thought I would get to a point where I didn't care about a top Iowa program... but here we are. Sucks...

Yeah, no, the refs were not bad at all. You must be Fran's wife to say something that stupid.
Like I have said, once Garza's group got bounced, that was basically it. My first Iowa game was Ronnie Lester's freshman year against Cal, and there have been FAR FAR more gut punches than highs watching this program for 40 plus years. I don't find watching Iowa Basketball enjoyable. Repeated kicks in the nuts wouldn't be enjoyable but that's been what it has felt like the majority of the time watching this program shit the bed year after year. Lute Olson is a hall of fame coach and my God did he have some of the worst luck come tournament time.
I just got tired of it and only follow casually.
First kick in nuts I remember was Jacksonville 1970. Should have prepared me for next 50t years. 1979-1989 was sure fun except for gut wrenching NCAA losses.
