Yeah, fun win today, but Iowa beat a team that was crumbling late in the season. I don't read anything into it in terms of program trajectory.
The Rutgers road win earlier in the season didn't really propel this team to any new heights, either. Lost by 26 at Maryland the very next game.

People are calling for Fran to be gone. If that doesn't happen people will be calling for Beth to go. I don't think Beth wants that. I hope the Hawks continue to make a deep run in the tournament. But it's way past time for a new coach.

Fran will not be coaching at Iowa by the end of this week. I wish him well. He’s a good guy.
Iowa needs a better system not better players. We've had 15 years of focus on offense only, ignore defense and rebounding.
Once the rumors start that McCollum's agent has been contacted by Iowa, then we'll really be cooking with gas.

Yeah, this team is "headed" toward being able to beat bad teams that are playing their worst basketball of the season.

When the threes are falling, Iowa looks decent. It’s the games where they aren’t, and there is no defense or rebounding to fall back on, that is my problem with Franball.
Oh, for the love of God. It’s bad enough that so many fans think that KF is the only human on earth who could possibly lead the football program to any success. Now we have fans questioning if there’s anyone who could possibly elevate the basketball program above where Fran has it now? GMAFB!

I love these quotes. So many bitch about Fran and no defense and then the some ones bitch about the football team has no offense and good defense? Hard to please everyone....I know, we're Iowa and should have both on every team.
Nebrasska has a terrible basketball team, they were on a 4 game losing streak before we extended it to 5. I'd hardly use it as an example of where the program is heading. The program needs fresh blood, it feels stale and unexciting. It's time for Fran to take a bow and leave.

Beth is CEO of a business and one of her departments is underperforming and by all indicators will continue to underperform and customers have stopped buying the product.
Fran has killed the ****ing program and will be gone within a week.
I would be ok with DeVries….but my preference has shifted to McCollum. I feel he is a much better coach, and will have better results at Iowa than DeVries.

The funny thing is that people on here bitching about the 'mid-major' players we have on the team hope Iowa fires Fran, hires McCollum from Drake and he brings his former D-II players with him to save the program.
