Gilman 2nd
Clark 4th
Sorensen 2nd

165 wasn't mentioned for scoring points
174 wasn't mentioned for scoring points

Excellent - anything better than 8th means the Hawks peaked at the right time of year. I'm sure Piles will give the hawks props if that happens.

I'd take some of that action as well. Sign me up!

Reporting hack that makes idiotic remarks to rile people up. He is in the same league as Cowherd.

Edit: Sorry CP. I thought it was Willie. I actually think CP is a good journalist and I have respect for him (unlike Willie). Still want some of that action though!

Anything to get attention.

Honestly by listening to it, he didn't come off as someone just trying to rile people up. He legitimately picked every match and that is what the scoring totals said.

CP is a good dude and I wouldn't compare him to the other shock jocks. He is just out of touch with this prediction.

He's a hack because he said something you don't like? Any chance he was just offering his honest opinion?

Richard Immel picked Iowa to finish 6th on his podcast today (but, like Pyles, he acknowledges they would only need a few things to break their way to finish much higher).

It's pretty much a worst-case scenario. As 1st said, none of those outcomes by itself is particularly unlikely, but all of them happening at once is quite unlikely.

There's some bias underlying those picks, IMO, but I'm sure that would be denied. We'll see how close he ends up. I don't expect us to threaten to win the thing, but I see us finishing a lot better than 8th.

Brooks' quarter will be interesting - as a PSU fan hoping Brown is the opponent. I feel safe in saying 8th isn't in play. Neither is 7th. Hoping for 2nd for the Hawks to make it interesting ;)

Whose the seven teams projected to finish ahead of Iowa? I believe I know who three of these teams might be.
My worse projection for Iowa is 59.5 points.
Going with my heart though I'm projecting 81.0 points
I really believe that Meyer is good for at least 5 points most in the consolation round.
Cooper, Rhoads and Stoll with a combined four points.;)

So the team that's beaten just about everyone, won the Midlands, and placed second at the big tens is going to drop to eighth place at the nationals? Every ranking all year long is kept them in the top five and these Cheeseheads figure out eighth Place?

That's a special kind of stupid.

Is Christian related to Gomer Pyle? I suppose he has divined that Penn St. will score 180 pts. off of 5 individual titles, and high AA by Conaway, Gulibon, McCutcheon and Morelli. The Hawks placing even close to 8th is about as likely as Morelli winning it all at 165. Almost certain they'll be somewhere between 1st and 4th.

Well I'm here in NY now and this news is pretty tough to take. I left home yesterday and finally got here only to discover that I really don't fit in here. It kinda weird cause there is a cross section of the entire planet (possibly other planets too) just in the hotel lobby. I have heard at least nine different languages and am amazed at the diversity. Have yet to find anyone that even know where Montana is. I can't wait to get inside the garden with some normal people. Or at least some PSU folks.

Maybe this is why I don't have much desire to visit NYC --- only to see the architecture, museums, etc. --- definitely not the people. I've been to major cities around the world, but NYC just doesn't appeal to me. So I feel for you Catman (btw, I'm not a Montanan, but did attend UM in Missoula - Go Griz!)

Close enough. I plan on spending the day tomorrow at the museum of natural history. Seeing the work of Akely, Rockwell and James L.Clark has been a dream of mine for over 30 years now. Those guys paved the road the I now travel.

For whoever asked he had this as his top 8 (points for 3-8):
PSU
Okie St (9.5 behind)
tOSU 70
VaTech 69.5
Mizzou 67.5
NC ST 66
Cornell 62.5
Iowa 60

Worth noting this is just based off placement and advancement, no bonus

Boy, Iowa would really stink up place up if that happened. I did not come out here to see that. I am planning on no worse than second.

Well then............We got this all locked up!

Cause we all know............. that we're "All About" bonus points.

In CPs defense he said that it would just take little things and iowa could be third. He went through the brackets and then figured the points. He also mentioned that Brooks just had a bad draw.

For 8th, wetting the bed does not even come close to covering it. It would be a bed so messed up you would have to move.

I think 2nd is in range. 1st has a path but needs a perfect storm. 5 is the basement imho.

Eighth place? Seriously? I don't see it. Barring anything truly nutty, I'd say Iowa's floor is 4th place. Top 3 more likely.

CP has picked Iowa to win in the last two
I believe and keeps getting burnt. I think this is his way of keeping expectations low.

All right...........he's putting the anti-jinx on us.

No wonder we suffered the last couple years....he picked us to win.

It's all starting to make sense now................o_O

damn i'd like to go on a rant here, but could look like a fool on Monday. all are possible gosh I hope not.

I know that you're just joking but I thought it would be interesting to look at Iowa and bonus point victories over the years at NCAA's. Under Brands (2007-2015) Iowa has averaged 8.8 bonus victories with a high of 14 and a low of 5. In Brands first 4 years they averaged 9.75 and last 5 only 8. Under Zalesky (1998-2006) they averaged 10.4 with a high of 18 and a low of 3. The first 4 years they averaged 15.25 and last 5 only 7. By comparison PSU under Sanderson has averaged 12 with a high of 19 and a low of 5. I haven't looked up Iowa under Gable but I'm sure I will.

You should have stopped after the Brands, Zalesky comparison because I'm not the least bit interested at all in Sanderson and Penn State. Other than that, it was interesting.

They talked about season long fantasy wrestling. Myself and few guys put something together this year. It worked out fairly well. You can check it out at www.seifantasywrestling.weebly.com
We are looking at a couple of changes for next year.(roster expansion, bye weeks adjustments, ect.). Let me know what you think.
