FSU to the B1G

So as big ten guy with an affinity for my FSU brethren, I am interested in all of this, but given how many false starts there have been and misdirection, I thought FSU already announced it was leaving. Wasn’t that part of the lawsuit, or at least the primary driver? Or is this potentially a new development?

FSU can't announce anything until we have an official invite. No conference is going to invite us until the lawsuits are resolved and we are out of the sorry ass ACC. Behind closed doors, we very likely have invites to both the B1G and SEC. FSU is a top 7 media property while being stuck in the ACC. We are a top 5 media property in either of the P2 conferences. One of them will take us. What is more likely, is that the two P2 conferences will engage in a bidding war over having FSU as a new member,

Wrong. Can't have an official invite until they announce. Anything else leaves the door open for the ACC to cry foul and sue for tampering among other lawyer BS.

Now, that does mean that the two sides have a deal in place under wraps.

I deleted my post because I didn’t read the link in total before posting. Apparently what is new is that this is from a big ten source

Did you miss the part where I said the lawsuits needed to be settled and we are out of the sorry ass ACC?

Don't get your panties in a wad. You are just wrong. ACC may have to pay us when it's all said and done. FSU is announcing in the next few weeks to leave this godforsaken conference.

The ACC should pay us but I'm not sure how that is the outcome when this is playing out in courts in three separate states and the ACC is content to have this drag on for years. They keep collecting checks off our production each day this drags on.

A deal with the ACC is already in the works. They know it will cost them millions to take this to court. It's being settled. Cheers!

I hope you're correct. Everything I've seen, though I haven't followed this closely in the last 6 weeks, is that the ACC parasite schools and the equally parasitic home office feel that they can let this drag on for years. Last I saw, they wouldn't even come to the. table to negotiate an exit number, I check 247 every day to see if there have been any big changes and so far I have seen nothing. This post today from Big Ten Information Center is the first I have seen in a while and it is merely a prediction that is allegedly sourced from a B1G connection.

Patience my Nole friend. I am almost betting FSU attends ACC media days at the end of the month. Leave halfway and announce. Then let those bottom feeders fend for themselves without us carrying the heavy loads.

Can't wait for the first inaugural GIAHORT FSU vs. Iowa tailgate.

Gotta love offseason BS.

I know I forgot a few folks.

I really, really want FSU in the big for totally personal/selfish reasons. B1G games an hr away.

Do you think FSU leadership wants to get into the B1G and how high are the chances in your estimation?

I simply don't follow it close enough but this whole thing is closer to home for you guys.

Thanks!

Won't take offense you did not tag me.

One thing for sure is that FSU is leaving the godforsaken ACC.

Hope it's to the B1G. We would have epic tailgate parties.

I feel we're 100% gone. For selfish reasons, I want the Big 12 because I live in Texas, the heart of BigXII country. BUT, some quality teams (or at least brands) would have to follow; e.g., Clemson, ND, and UNC. Market wise, those three along with FSU would significantly bolster the conference and if the money was good, I think it would be solid.

What I think NEEDS to happen is FSU go to the B1G; we are a good fit academically, athletically and regionally.

Screw the $EC (that's all I'm going to say about that).

I hate tagging folks because I always forget someone.

I'd absolutely love FSU to the B1G. Beyond personal reasons they definitely elevate football in the SEC v B1G battle and the rest of their sports programs are solid.

I have no insider info but that insider info I don’t have says B1G…got it? 😉😉

Im with the others, I'd rather the BIG. Growing up in the deep south while FSU was in the ACC, FSU has always been seen as "they'd fit, but they are different than us" since FSU went to the ACC. And there is the ever present "the SEC invited you in the 80s and you snubbed us to go to the ACC", and many of those schools hold onto that. Back then it made sense.

I'd love to think the FSU leadership has a plan, but I am skeptical (they HAVE to be big picture thinkers right? But I just don't know) . I know the leadership just wants more money and a more equitable share and had to get clear from the legal garbage first. I bet if the ACC could have conceded to changes back when this started, FSU would more seriously consider staying. But the bowl snub was the final straw to leave.
I want to believe that the FSU leadership see the academic upside of the BIG as a better option.

And the BIG would give me 6 schools within 5 hours.

FSU baseball would be a HUGE gain for the BIG. Lady sports are rocking it right now.

I'd love to think that the extra money might allow FSU to add men's soccer but not sure what sport would be added to the ladies side of the ledger. Lacrosse?

B1G has 9 women's field hockey programs. It's actually a fun sport to watch fwiw.
