Can't almost anyone officiate State games? I was told that years ago after watching a terribly officiated game and believing the State Tournament hired the best of the best.

the first 10 were not on the varsity level . i had to travel at least an hour and a half on most night to get to a varsity game . had to decide if the sacrifice to my family 3 nights a week was worth it .

the state association decides . they send out people to watch and use recommendations from coaches .
