Guys we're gonna meet PSU in the BCG and get revenge

Wisconsin has a legit shot to run the table so unless we beat Wisky and OSU, we have literally no shot.

If this is how you feel then we had zero shot at the West going into the season. I've never been high on the Hawks chances of the West but you're overreacting before Wisconsin has played a single conference game. Lose to Iowa, lose to Michigan or somebody else & Hawks can lose to OSU. Odds are long, yes, but it's why they play the games.

Tell you this.. If PSU dont have Barkley they definitely lose this game. And if you coaches keep abusing him by giving him the ball on damn near every play and on kick offs and on what ever other role he has, he will not make it through the season. He is the best player in college football no doubt. PSU is unbelievably lucky to have him. They are an average team with out him.

Not true and your receivers and TEs have been exposed, and your read option develops too slow with the zone blocking.

Don't think for a second this will not be the blueprint for teams all year against you.

I predict McSorley misses at least 1 game this year due to injury as your OL sucks.
Purdue will be tough also. I don't think they can get to the playoff game, but they can knock off others who are in contention. Wisconsin is still the team to beat for you.

Agree.

"...and that Penn State didn't deserve to win"

...if this is so, perhaps your administration should petition the Big 10 to award the victory to IOWA. I'm sure they will find a "sympathetic ear" from Jim Delaney ...why not give it a try? ...and be sure to notify ESPN et al of the result, will you? LOL

You need to check the all time series between us before you go assuming Wisky owns us.

West Champs minimum. Been saying that all season and preseason. Players like Stanley, Eppy Jr and Hooker are gonna be a lot better at the end of the year. How sweet would it be to win the West and go on to beat PSU in the title game?

That was a heck of a game but the numbers paint an ugly picture. PSU outgained Iowa by 306 yards, had 29 1st downs to Iowa's 11 and had a 19 minute edge in TOP. They also had 8 penalties and 2 turnovers to Iowa's 3 infractions and 1 TO. All of that at home in the most favorable crowd Iowa can expect to play in front of this year (though OSU could still be a night game so that could top it). The Kinnick magic played a big part in keeping this one close.

I'm not sure that is a recipe for a conference championship run when you look at the schedules ahead. Minn, OSU, @UW is a brutal stretch, especially when there is already a loss on the resume. Obviously a long season ahead and a lot can change but I'm not sure this is a championship squad for Iowa this year. PSU dominated this game and it took an epic comeback to get past ISU in OT (rival or not Iowa gave up 40+ just like a FCS school and Akron). The defense is tough as nails and make a lot of flash plays, but there are underlying issues there and I think Stanley's consistent overthrows are going to be a problem as teams down the line get more film on him. Wadley is a stud who is capable of putting the team on his back and winning one by himself (as we have already seen) but where are the other weapons?

At MichSt is going to be tough, road games are not KF's strength. Hawks are awfully limited and seem to only play well every once in awhile at home. Lose Whatley and getting a first down will be tough, like in the first 3 quarters.
PennSt, again, on a neutral field with their multiple options compared to KF ball. Sounds like a Rose Bowl debacle for the Hawks.

Well, you need to beat OSU and Wisconsin back to back weeks to get there, good luck.

True, but they only really need to beat Wisconsin (and everyone else in the West) to get there. However, any shot at a playoff birth requires winning the rest of their games. If PSU is undefeated, and Iowa somehow manages to win the rest of their games, then the Big 10 championship game will be for a playoff birth.

For the record, I don't think that will happen, but I think it could happen.

I posted this last night or early this morning. Barkley had 40 touches yesterday on offense - 28 carries. He has 66 rushes this season and 24 catches. Not sure about the KOs...he's the one who wants to do it to challenge himself.

Wadley has 79 carries this season...had 28 against ISU and 24 against NT. He has 10 receptions on the year.

Iowa conceded Barkley and PSU took what they gave them. Thus far this year, Barkley has exactly one more offensive touch than Wadley. Are you suggesting that Iowa is ruining Wadley? Also, why did they utilize him so much against ISU? Oh that's right, because that was how they could win the game.

You guys didnt need to use Barkley in the first couple games to win them, to the extent you did last night.. If he didnt have each and every one of those touches you probley dont win that game. Just saying he will have to be used much more now going into the Big Ten slate. any if Penn St loses him your a Different team.

A guy like Barkley can take a game over . But PSU has some capable back ups. They’re not as good, but capable.
If Sanders was the starter last night Iowa maybe game plans differently and that can change things.
It’s not a static situation .

Penn State didn't deserve to win? What game were you watching? Both teams played their asses off and Penn State drove the length of the field with less than 2 minutes to win it. We also put up over 600 yards on offense! All that said, best of luck the rest of the way. Hope to see you in Indy!
We needed virtually everything to go our way to win, a lot of things did, but too many things piled up. Tackling was an issue at times, Barkley is hard to bring down and the D got tired. "If" we could have made that FG, "if" Wadley didn't fumble, "if" we get that second Mcsorley fumble instead of your Onlineman. Those would have helped, for sure.

I thought the refs called a decent game, they got all of the replays correct. Wish they would have reviewed Barkley's long run to see if his knee was down, no idea if it was or wasn't. Only call I felt was crap was the obvious PI on Hockensen when the Dback grabbed his shoulder.

All in all Iowa had their chance but couldn't quite finish. Before Wadley broke his run I did think we would be able to kick a FG like in '16 against Michigan. Ahh well. Bummer.

If any team loses their best player they are a different team. Wadley is to Iowa as Barkley is to PSU.

Wadley is very good but he is not on the same level Barkley is. We lose him it hurts but we have others who are capable. PSU as well I am sure has others that are capable but no one is close to what Barkley provides you.

Except in Indianapolis in December.

Penn State is not gonna get any better than they were tonight.

Iowa is............
Curious why you feel this way. For all their stars, PS also have a lot of players in their 1st season starting (RT, for example, started his first game ever on Saturday as a RS Fr). Several LBs and DL are likewise still green. Why would they not get better while Iowa's players would?

That's for me to know and you to answer.......

His usage and winning was my point. You did the same against ISU with Wadley. FWIW, we haven't started a game giving him so many touches that I can recall.

I would agree that we are a different team if PSU loses him. I think any legit Heisman candidate would have that impact on whatever team he plays for.

I don't agree with your assessment about how others will play us. It was obvious that Iowa was willing to concede Barkley to a degree and sell out to stop anything over the top. Interesting strategy. We were told after Week 2 that Nardog had given teams a blue print on how to attack PSU defensively - sell out against the run, stay in your lanes in your pass rush, keep Mc in the pocket and force the passing game to beat you. Mc had the worst game of his career that day and we still won. Iowa obviously did not replicate this strategy. In fact, it looked to be the complete opposite.

Will be interesting to see how Harbaugh and Urbs attack us defensively. I would expect Michigan to sell out to stop the run. Not sure about Urbs.

Stop hittin the pipe Rocky. Hawks couldn't pull out a home game with 2 weeks prep against a heavily favored team that was ripe for the upset. KF normally gets this game with the extra prep, but didn't here. This does not bode well for the rest of the season.
Lol, Clownsigh where you been lil chicken?! I've been calling you out since our visit to Ames. I knew you would be to wussy to come back to this board for a while.

So, fill me in. Do you still have to live in Texas? Is your boy still scrawny? Has your life gotten better in anyway??

Most of your comments reflect mindless drivel, so why would this be different?

Houston smog? Get out of that state & enjoy the rest of your life. You can't come to Colorado though. You couldn't afford it anyway.
Yeah, probably couldn't afford it. I will let you in on a little secret since anonymity has its advantages. The kid on the left is a client of mine.
