Except Drake has done quite a bit of freestyle in his life. He is quite small at the weight right now.
I understand Drake has wrestled freestyle. In this match, though, he wrestled a very Folkstyleish type of match.

Penn state fans being cringe example 2000000Busy day, only saw that Desmond went 2-2. Not getting a good feeling. Hope the rest of the PSU kids did at least a little better than that.
I'm afraid to look..
Well, if one were to chart wrestling success and football opportunities to this point…..I believe Keuterdidn’t wrestle/ make team last summer, he was world champ 2022. He was going into his senior year of high school. So first real decision in college about wrestling and football.
No I am pretty sure he didn’t wrestle in U20s last year. He was doing the football thing - which makes it interesting that he did it this year.I believe Keuterdidn’t wrestle/ make team last summer, he was world champ 2022. Nice. What did he weigh in at today?Post-match interview...some interesting comments here. I asked on the other board about how BK did in spring ball. Does he have a path to play at all? If he's not in the mix in camp does he pack his bags for Spain?
That's a good question. I wish I knew.Nice. What did he weigh in at today?
….. and if I have to take a year off
of one or the other.
Weighed in between 225-230. Wants to wrestle at 240-245Nice. What did he weigh in at today?

He’s got a good head on his shoulders. I like his confidence too. Selfishly I want him to pick wrestling, I also think he could contribute this year. Next will be interesting. If he’s getting regular reps at Mike LB then I think wrestling gets a little tougher. This might be the perfect year to focus on wrestling. Become as good as he can.Post-match interview...some interesting comments here. I asked on the other board about how BK did in spring ball. Does he have a path to play at all? Lot of really good MLBs have gone through Iowa. He’s got a good head on his shoulders. I like his confidence too. Selfishly I want him to pick wrestling, I also think he could contribute this year. Great young man. Easy to root for. Just keep chasing the dream. Like he said, 'It's only four years. There'll be plenty of time to sit on his @$$ later.'Post-match interview...some interesting comments here. I asked on the other board about how BK did in spring ball. It’s an interesting question (not here to troll, just talk wrestling).Haines and kasak have shown it’s a pretty good formula PSU has come up with for success right out of the gate. Do you think Ryder will also start as a true freshman?
Correct me if I’m wrong but BK is primarily seen as a Will LB, correct? I don’t follow Iowa a lot of I was just wondering so I can watch for their depth chart updates by position. No I am pretty sure he didn’t wrestle in U20s last year. We are loaded at LB this year, so he wasn’t going to see playing time regardless of whether or not he wrestles at Worlds this year. But if he wrestles at Worlds, he may miss significant time in summer FB and beginning of the FB season (and perhaps delay his development as a football player). If he is really dedicated to have an NFL football career, wrestling at Worlds may be detrimental to that goal.
This could be an indicator that he is going to be more focused on wrestling. Or it could mean nothing. He may or may not even wrestle at Worlds.
It does make his developing story more interesting though. As a wrestling fan (more than FB fan), I would love to see him more dedicated to wrestling.
He said in his interview he’s Mike (middle).Correct me if I’m wrong but BK is primarily seen as a Will LB, correct? I don’t follow Iowa a lot of I was just wondering so I can watch for their depth chart updates by position.
I wish ybarra was this good at folkstyle. Would make 133 a little better for us
Glazier loses 2-1, Voelker
It's still a badge of honor to beat a Hawkeye, even a totally average one.Glazier lost a single leg not once but twice in the 2nd period. Voelker never so much as sniffed an actual offensive point and celebrated like he won the NCAAs. Lol
He's actually scoring point on good dudes. Showing promise. Literally shows none of that during the college seasonsNot sure what you’re talking about. You’re posting like he’s setting the world on fire. He’s the 5 seed and lost in the quarters, as expected.
Well, that’s maybe an improvement. But it doesn’t take much, eh?He's actually scoring point on good dudes. Showing promise. Literally shows none of that during the college seasons

The title of the Thread is Hawkeyes at under 20's/23's. Not let's guess Penn State's lineup next year. It’s an interesting question (not here to troll, just talk wrestling).
If we assume Star goes 197 like he hinted:
174/184 have Barr, Ryder, Facundo as possibilities.
Star 184 (which I still think is most likely):
Ryder/Facundo at 174 (Barr/Cochran at 197)
Then I think if Star stays 174 you can pencil in Ryder RS. This is least likely imo.
Also there are some people close to the program who are saying don’t be surprised if Haines moves into 174 to make room for Kasak/MM at 157/65. That likely RS Ryder. Facundo shut out Haines in Free (yes I know there’s the style difference but it can’t be ignored).
At least it’s wrestling and not the other bs that dominates any other devolves past 3 pages. The title of the Thread is Hawkeyes at under 20's/23's. Not let's guess Penn State's lineup next year.
Angelo has been wrecking top level guys on the national stage for the last 4 years. He’s a savage. His frosh year he won the top bracket in the country - I believe it included Jordan Williams and another top 15 national recruit.Ryder was the guy Angelo wanted to wrestle as WNO, but didn’t happen. Really would have given us an idea how good angel is, now that we seen him and Gabe go at it. The announcers thought Gabe may beat him this time after a year in our room, but Ryder skipped last year of high school to work out with PSU and M2, so was like getting his first year in a college room also.
Will be really hard to wrestle at 240-245 if he doesn’t walk into the season around 260. Just getting into wrestling shape tends to shed quite a bit of weight for upper weights.Weighed in between 225-230. Wants to wrestle at 240-245
Think Rathjen has to beat Scott to wrestle for 3rdKennedy v. Ramirez best of 3 for the world team.
Rathjen v. Ed Scott for spot in 3 place match
Ayala won by injury default over Nagao and is now sitting in the 3rd place match.
Phipps is definitely a bigger 133 sized guy that drake will have to get strong enough to contend with. Drake wrestled tough on the backside so far. Phipps beat his arse though pretty soundly - just gave up 2 takedowns in the end while he was leading big. Match was never in doubt.Phipps (Beat Ayala 10-8) pinned Nagao. Nagao was up 1-0 and then got exposed and pinned late in the 2nd. Nagao did hurt his shoulder in the sequence.
