You’re out of your element here, Lucas.Have a Snickers, or take a nap. You are too tense.
I’m hoping it doesn’t wrap around south of IC, or at least it’s delayed. We’re in a lull now and I guess every hour it’s not snowing certainly helps.Initial estimates 5-6 inches with another small wave coming through in a bit. Definitely has taken a more northerly track. Unless the wrap around becomes more pronounce we may be done. For the higher total I think it was saying 7 inches by 7 AM. Well they are still saying another 5 inches. Not sure I believe it LOL.
Well got the driveway cleared deck totals were deceptive. Just 3 inches. This is why I think schools should wait to cance.
Driving to DSM tomorrow from Marion.
Staying the night and still holding up hope for our 6a flight to st. Maarten via Miami…
It should be a hard surface only. We are not a main drag by any means and we are cleared. I don’t think we got much after 2. I am always one to look at the conditions. With that theory school should be cancelled with a skiff of snow. My breakeven on going into work was 5 inches by morning. should be minimal blowing with only 3 inches.Until the first school bus goes in the ditch killing children

Still coming down in central Iowa and the blizzard warning starts at 10am.It should be a hard surface only. We are not a main drag by any means and we are cleared. I don’t think we got much after 2. Waiting for daylight. Then the fire starts
Hey look everyone, it is "walked to school uphill both ways" guy.Well got the driveway cleared deck totals were deceptive. Just 3 inches. This is why I think schools should wait to cance.
I’m in NE Iowa. Dunno for sure how much we have but it’s snowing like a mother fvcker and blowing pretty good. I would guess since 5 or so we’ve had 4+”. The trip to Carver doesn’t seem realistic at this point.Yep. This reminds me of Tuesday morning, where we had an early morning lull before it went full blown nuclear.
I've got just short of 4" on my deck from overnight, but it's not snowing currently here in CR. Looking at the radar though, round two is forming in SE IA/NE MO and that's where the heavy snow is going to come from.
I'd guess most of Iowa has probably dodged the maxed out bullet with this one, but say from US30 north into NE Iowa with IA38 as a western border - they are going to be hardest hit today.
We're not out of the woods yet. If this thing is going to bomb out, let's hope it doesn't before it moves farther east.

And all your moms say “Thank you, Torbee!”Latest HRR has a nice swatch of 10" through much of eastern Iowa.
We had no snow on the radar at the time coming our way this morning other than what looked like a small squall coming through, well we have another inch on the ground visibility went to crap. Look I don't envy school administrators when the road conditions can change dramatically. Drive to work the first 15 miles not great, next 15 was ok. Still planning to leave around 1 and do some work at a couple business in home town.Still coming down in central Iowa and the blizzard warning starts at 10am.
My brother lives in Poky county. He just got back there from eastern Iowa yesterday. Here in NW Iowa(Poky co.) We have maybe 2-3 additional inches overnite with some snow coming down.Visibility very limited with 25+ mph winds. Not planning on leaving house today.
Ha ha. I’m kind of a weather nut so I’ve been following the two weather threads pretty closely. It reminds me of April of 21 when we were at the epicenter of the craziest snowstorm I’ve ever seen. 48” total snow from two storms over a span of 6 days. I’ll see if I can find some pics.@Mayland
I think our resident of ND must be laughing at us. This is a standard Friday in ND.
wow. Where you be for that
I had the year wrong. It was ‘22. The pic with the tape measure was after I made a cut in my driveway with my 26” snow blower. It took me about an hour and a half to make one pass about 40’ long. Luckily I had two buddies with skid steers that came and helped me out. The other pic is of a car. If you look really close just to the left of the pibe tree you can see the thin line of the car’s antenna. That one was something I’ll never forget.
Minot, ND.wow. Where you be for that
Minot, ND.
I've met quite a few people who have been stationed in Minot over the years. Most people hate it and view their time here as a prison sentence. A handful end up falling in love with the place and stick around after their time is up. There's no in-between, ha ha.Why not, Minot.
I heard that so many times in the USAF that it has stuck with me.
I'm fairly certain the players and refs are all in Iowa City now. Won't be the first game played while there's a blizzard outside.Just for those naysayers. This is a slow grower. Winds will be brutal. I can’t believe they think they’re playing at carver tonight.
