Hodge Trophy

The debate for Starocci over Parris is laughable. As happy as I was for Brands AAing, the fact that he took 5th, while Schultz took 7th should show how wide the gap in talent between the two weights actually was. Mind you FALLS are supposed to be the top criteria and that wasn’t even close…

Parris 33-0 w/ 11 FALLS, 3 TF’s and 7 MDs. The TF over Cass being the one match that should easily have won him the Hodge.

Starocci. 24-0 w/ 4 FALLS, 3 TF’s and 9 MDs. Pinning Labriola in the Finals is really the ONLY solid argument to put him in true contention.

Starocci didn't make the comment, you dip$hits. Brooks did.

Jesus Muhammed fuSkING Christ you're bad at this.
You didn't read the thread smalls. We were talking about Brooks. It may have shifted at some point but I stopped reading when people started trying to say it was ok because the guy on their side said it.

The only time I bothered to watch him was the Iowa dual and Natty championship. He really didnt appear very Hodgey against Nelson, a good dancer though.
And Iowa thinks they have the most knowledgeable fan base🤣.

Brands is a tough as heck wrestler. I would be happy to have him on my team.

Christianity and Islam are fundamentally opposed, but believing in one of them doesn't require, or mean, that you 'hate' the other. There is plenty of room for nuance.

I can't believe that I just defended Aaron Brooks.... I hate the way it makes me feel.
This. well done. and accurate and fair.

If you read the Koran, you’d realize that it directly calls Christian’s and Jews “people of the book” and their religions are to be respected and allowed to practice in Muslim run kingdoms.

Islam taught tolerance for other faiths. Just as Christianity preaches love. The problem is people, not the religion.

He understood exactly what he said. If you are a Christian, Mohammed was a false prophet. If you are Muslim, it is your duty to wage jihad on infidels (non-believers of Islam), if you are a true Christ believer, you are to tell others (non-believers, including Muslims) the truth as you know it. He wasn't "taking a shot", he was trying to tell them his truth. With so many versions of truth these days (religious, political, scientific, historical) he was just following his beliefs. If you don't have a belief system, you are "taking a shot" at him for his beliefs.

EDIT: I guess I should have read all the posts that happened while I took the dogs on a walk, but many of them just reiterate what I posted here. Anyway, what Brooks said wasn't hate, it was more like "enlightenment" for those of you who speak that jargon.

Hardly - I simply said Ted Williams was a dick to the media. That doesn’t change the fact he won’t criticize a PSU wrestler for making a douchy comment. I have no idea how Starocci treats the media. Two statements can be made in one post.

You're deflecting - Starocci made the comment. Who do you think he thought should have won? And Ted Williams was difficult to deal with.
Read the thread , then get back to me. I’ll help you because it appears you need it:

“He deserves it.”

If you were paying attention you would’ve seen this post. It was four posts in.
You okay now ? Words on a screen not upsetting you now?

the only reason i check in, honestly, is to see if "A Fist Full Of Hawkeyes" and "IronBird" ever getting into a Spelling Bee.
And the fact that you don't understand "moran" tells us you should stop checking in.

The harder you try the dumber you look. So, please, keep it coming.

When humans vote for something it will always be F'D up. Take the human element out of it, unless some common sense is needed, and go by a formula or algorithm. Is Starocci had a better bonus % and just as quality of schedule he has a point no. Doesn't mean I like him or him posting that on twitter.
I think Parris displayed a different kind of dominance (the pulverizing kind) than Starocci (the controlling, Alfred E. Newman kind). I gravitate more toward the former, and Parris had my vote. Plus, Kerk > Labs, IMO. As much as I don’t like to be, I’m technically a human.

He didn't need to say the false prophet part, added nothing to his speech and is offensive to many. If a Muslim said the exact opposite, many Christians would feel differently. My view ain't changing so let's agree to disagree.
While I have no problem with the full text of his comments, Brook's words were poorly chosen. For Christians Muhammad is not a Christian prophet, false or otherwise... totally different faith. For Muslims, Jesus is a prophet, to be respected - similar heritage back to Abraham.

Differences in religious faith are no reason for argument or criticizing one another on this wrestling board.

He doesn’t have a point - hodge has specific criteria. Paris was by far clear winner.
Which criteria did Paris clearly win? I don't have a problem with Mason winning it but I think C Star has a point. FYI it's not based on pins any more.

Starfish is a boring wrestler. He is good at winning like that but it's boring.

PSU fans are so defensive about this. He's not exciting, but he's still incredible. He's also one of the poorest sports in wrestling, as he demonstrated here.
I met a young guy yesterday at the gym who actually went to school with Carter. A few things he mentioned was he was always incredibly disciplined , he was always on point with working out and things involving prepping for wrestling. He did speak highly of his family also.
We talked about that tweet and he laughed , he then mentioned that he caught some flack for going to PSU. Some folk were saying he was neve going to make it there and openly doubted his abilities. Now he did come from western Pa. and maybe there was some Pitt fan animosity, but I can see it as "I will show you motivation" .
As for his tweets, I personally wish most social media disappeared, I think we would do just fine without the silliness that comes from it.

This is truly an incomplete picture. The Quran teaches their religion is to ultimately be a theocracy, and other religions can only be "tolerated" if they are fully subjugated and forced to pay the Jizya. And so-called "tolerance' means religions like Christianity can't preach to anybody but the camels. The proof is that there has not been, nor is there today, an Islamic controlled nation where I can preach to Muslims and start a church. Aaron Brooks would have a death sentence on him right now if he said this in in Saudia Arabia, Iran, Et al.

On the other hand, Christianity has zero commands to be a part of, let alone to be in control of, the government. The command is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. They are polar opposites in that regard. And any time that has happened in history it's been a gross abuse of the text.

However, this is a wrestling board and I'm not saying anything further. But I have practical experience in multiple Muslim nations and a lot more information on this topic from decades of examining it.

Do you ever count how many words are all-caps and how many exclamation points Ironbird uses in a typical post?

Using language and insults like that, you're on your way to being banned! If you want a good reputation in wrestling media, this is not the way to go.
