Shout out to storms dad for joining us as well. Great dude and a 100% affirmation that scoring well on a golf course isn't about who can hit the ball the furthest.
Love old guy golf. Driver, driver off deck, 7 iron, putt for par.
What I don't love is getting stuck behind multiple foursomes of old guys during the morning wave. Makes for a long round. Especially when playing alone.

It was all good. Great weather. Nice playing. Highlight for sure was my 100 yard ish shot, bottom of cup for birdie.
I spent a lot of time at the 5 x 80 in my youth. My grandparents were members, though neither really golfed much. We did a lot of swimming during the day then would come back and hang out in the bar during the evening. Us kids would belly up to the bar drinking Roy Rodgers with those little plastic swords stuck through the cherry while the adults got hammered and played cards.
I always got the red snapper for dinner because it came with that little dish of butter with the candle under it to keep the butter melted and that was ****ing cool. Great memories.
I volunteered to be a group filler for a labor day team event at our club last week. I'm a low handicap player and got put with the group of really good old guys. One of which used to regularly win or contend in the local two day tournaments about 15+ years ago when they were still somewhat prestigious events that many people played. Weird seeing a guy that was one of the best players in the area now on the super senior age level. He had a couple bad stretches, but for about 13-14 holes in the middle the guy hit the ball the exact same every time. It was like watching old guy golf on steroids... or some kind of heavy fiber regiment at least...
Is anything in the works for 2024? May I suggest Finkbine, Riverside, or Amana Colonies? Preferably on a Saturday BEFORE football season starts.

I have yet to golf any of those three courses and would love to golf any of those three courses. So I’m in.
The twilight rate at Riverside is a HELL of a value. The downside is starting the round at hottest part of the day.
