I don’t think either pronoun describes Lia in a flattering way.Why would we need new pronouns for someone who identifies as a woman? I will agree that new pronouns might make it easier for non binary people, but that's not the case for Lia.

Second place is always disappointing, but Lia or the rest of the field wouldn't have beat Katie Ledecky in 2017. Katie's time was 4:24.06. They also wouldn't have beaten Leah Smith who holds the pool record with 4:30.81. Did you feel bad for the other competitors those years?I feel bad for the first place non-transitioned female who came in “Second place.” I guess that’s just the feminist in me.
I believe women should have the right to pursue athletic feats without competing against former men.
Jesus ChristSecond place is always disappointing, but Lia or the rest of the field wouldn't have beat Katie Ledecky in 2017. Katie's time was 4:24.06. They also wouldn't have beaten Leah Smith who holds the pool record with 4:30.81. Did you feel bad for the other competitors those years?
What pronouns are you claiming aren't flattering?I don’t think either pronoun describes Lia in a flattering way.
You accusing Ledecky of using PEDs?Second place is always disappointing, but Lia or the rest of the field wouldn't have beat Katie Ledecky in 2017. Katie's time was 4:24.06. It's true, why is it different when a transgender female wins? She's not good enough to beat the best women who have competed in the past?Jesus Christ
No I'm saying cis gender women have swam better times. Do you think they haven't?You accusing Ledecky of using PEDs?
Once in a generation talent in Ledecky. Not an average ****ing dude with his junk cut offIt's true, why is it different when a transgender female wins? She's not good enough to beat the best women who have competed in the past?

Well in 2016 Leah Smith set the pool record with a time of 4:30.81 3/17/2016. Lia's time was 4:33.24 she would have been beaten in 2016 and 2017 so I guess there might be more than one "once in a generation cis gender woman" that could beat her.Once in a generation talent in Ledecky. The point is, the chick with a dick(I’m assuming it’s been removed) has no business competing against women, then to beat the real women, should make this obviousWell in 2016 Leah Smith set the pool record with a time of 4:30.81 3/17/2016. Weird take, and you keep doubling and tripling down on it.Second place is always disappointing, but Lia or the rest of the field wouldn't have beat Katie Ledecky in 2017. Katie's time was 4:24.06. They lost to women that qualified for the meet, the same as the women who lost today.Did those swimmers lose to former men?
Apples and oranges.

The mental gymnastics going on here is almost impressive.Second place is always disappointing, but Lia or the rest of the field wouldn't have beat Katie Ledecky in 2017. Katie's time was 4:24.06. None of that matters to me. Good for her. Win em all. I only post these or comment on them to rebut the insane notion a few posters have here that Lia Thomas had no advantage today because of her former gender. It’s ludicrous. That's exactly what I believe. Lia Thomas is competing according to NCAA rules most of which have been in place since 2011. She is not cheating. She didn't change her sex so she could dominate Women's Swimming. If people are angry with the rules then take it up with the NCAA, but calling Lia he or it is just being vindictive.
And that's that. The point is, the chick with a dick(I’m assuming it’s been removed) has no business competing against women, then to beat the real women, should make this obvious
Honest question. Do you know lia's pronoun? You can't always use her name in a standardized sentence.
I think the easiest solution is have EVERONE compete against each other and then recognize the best biological male biological female and f-m and m-f athletes. It's all based off time anyway. The idea that we should make trans leagues is just ridiculous. How many trans swimmers do you think there are in American Collegiate Athletics? In all of national sports, there are (That we know of) 50 trans women across all sports in US Collegiate Athletics. A "trans" league simply doesn't work as the numbers just don't make sense. So every now and then a trans woman will rise to the top and people will get outraged. But all in all, it's an extremely low number.
Nope. Don’t like the pronoun thing either.Honest question. Do you know lia's pronoun? You can't always use her name in a standardized sentence.
She's a transphobe.
Also, I don’t believe Lia should be competing against women.Honest question. Do you know lia's pronoun? You can't always use her name in a standardized sentence.
As time goes we are likely going to need to address the situation as to make it fair for biological females to compete against biological females. At the current time my stance is that I don't really care as long as it isn't MMA or Boxing. Also, I don’t believe Lia should be competing against women.
If she wanted to be a she to fit in better then why should she care if she wins a swimming competition in a males body? She should realize she still has an unfair advantage and be willing to swim against her similar competition.
She will be the "Cock of the Walk"!!Top seed in the 200 and 500 and 10th seed in the 100. Amazing story. She went from 554th ranked swimmer last year to Number one in the nation this year. All of that hard work has paid off! Good luck, Lia!
That narrative liberals tell themselves is a huge reason a guy like trump could win. It isn't true no matter how many time you repeat the propaganda. This issue is transformative. For the first time, possibly ever, white republican males are concerned about fairness for women. Voting, health care access, equal pay....F them, they can get back in the kitchen. Competing against transgender athletes...OMG....it's an outrage.
