Oh don't get me wrong. I'm not happy it took an injury to make things right. And I don't doubt that this is eating Kirk up inside. But facts are facts. He can't bring Cade back now. It would cost him the team, the fanbase, and probably his job. So anything suggesting that he might is just dumb.

Please, if you are really a fan of Iowa football, not Kirk fan, but Iowa football, then Please go out to practice on Monday and ask those players how meaningless those trophys and the last few games are. Please do that, and the report back. Frankly, to use a line from a Few Good Men, "I don't give a DAMN, what you think you are entitled too". The players play, and the coaches coach, and that 150 or so people have WAY more invested in what those games, trophys, and the blood, sweat and tears THEY leave on the field mean. If its important to them then its important. Whether you or I care is pretty damn meaningless in the big picture.
Kirk is sooooo close to Woody's record that he can taste it. Now that elevating Brian's career is off the table, that record is the only thing left for him to achieve. Given the ease of which the Sullivan led offense destroyed Wisconsin I think Kirk's sense of self achievement overrides the loyalty to McNamara.
I don’t think he can start Cade next week. I believe KF’s job is now on the line. You said it yourself, everyone can see the difference. Not just the fans, but boosters, the Athletic Department, and other teams around the nation.
If KF starts Cade next week, Sully is almost certainly gone. Some school will pay him big money to be their QB.
I don’t think KF would coach past this season if that were to happen. The boosters will want him gone and so will Beth and the AD.

If only winning was as important to Kirk as it is his players, what a coincidence the defense looked completely disengaged and finished with this sh*t during the MSU game and has been playing lights out since Sullivan started.
If only Kirk was “as invested” as the players and not completely stubborn, the players would be playing far more meaningful games right now, instead a chunk of them are going to being opting out of a meaningless bowl game. Shame on pure stubbornness.

What you must understand is the running game is more successful because the defense has respect Sullivan on the edge. It keeps the DE from crashing down into play . It’s a huge difference

Iowa boosters are either the poorest or the stingiest of all P5 schools. This isn’t Texas A&M, who will pay nearly 9 figures for a coach to go away and not bat an eye. Iowa is unwilling to fork over 8 figures.
If Sully had started the season we’d be 8-1 now and playing for a playoff spot. Kirk pooped the bed on this one, as usual.
Sullivan’s ability to lead the offense and keep it on the field gives the defense more time to regroup and come in fired up and ready to play.

It was as obvious as the day is long that Sully had tons more up side with his running ability. He is certainly not a step backward as a passer either.
I love how we are playing now but am bitter that we will not even be close to getting into the CFP.
1. Sullivan never came out of the NW or Wisconsin game with 2nd team guys in.
2. Cade got hurt and that's the ONLY reason why he lost his job.
3. Kirk took shots at the mistakes Sullivan made at halftime and the post game. I have never heard him talk about an individual's mistakes.
4. He said on the broadcast (I guess, I was at the game) that he is looking forward to Cade being back.
It's happening. I would put money on it... not much, but some...

A lot of people don't understand that with Sully the defense has to defend the QB and RB completely different as opposed to having a QB that is even little threat to run a sneak.

Please. The guys made plenty of mistakes but saying he's not "invested" and he doesn;t want to win is just stupid and wrong. Again ask the 149 other guys who work with him if he's invested and wants to win. Doesn't matter one bit either. Lose a game or win by 32 points and its still the same shit on here...
I heard KF halftime calling out Sully’s “mistake” .. I didn’t catch his post game gripe of Sully… what did he say post game?
He didn't make comments about Cade on the radio broadcast but did point out his mistakes (plural). He talked about some good things he did too but that tone he took made me think he's going with Cade.

Heard the halftime loud and clear.. tv broadcast.. reporter was like, wow, Sully is playing good; how about Sully? KF : said something like “he made a big mistake, but played good”
I don't get it. When he should say something he says nothing. When he should say nothing he says something.
The dumb thing is it wasn’t even a big mistake. It was actually the best possible outcome in that scenario.

if I’m a betting man, Cade is starting next Friday. KF’s halftime and postgame interviews lead me to think that’s the direction he wants to go. Sad
