BTW....there is no such thing as a bid stealer. Those teams earned their bids.

I applaud the players especially Payton, Dix and Perkins and the 4 freshman for coming together and making it interesting at the end of the year. but the damage was already done with the coaches decision to start the lineup of Krikke, Patrick, Payton, Bowan, and Perkins at the beginning of the season. Not that he was terribly in playing his returning players from last year, but they just didn't play defense and couldn't rebound. The NIT is best for next years returning players and it will drive them to be better next year.
Falling short can be a huge motivator.

I won't watch. Did not even watch the OSU game. Have to say that this year is by far the smallest sampling of Iowa basketball I have watched. Had enough of the current style of play and coaching. Maybe next year.

Noise Fran could be leaving? Grumbling out there he was not happy an asked for extension wasn’t given last year. No way a retiring Barta was going to give that and no way an interim AD was doing that as well. Now that BG is the AD, she is going to bring in her coach if he does leave. Go get Devries. Not sure why he wanted an extension since his contract runs till 28/29.

I never said that.

But the teams that won their conference tournament to get an automatic NCAA bid didn't "steal" that bid....they earned it fair and square.

For the record....I think the conference regular season champ should get the automatic bid.

Teams passing on the NIT are stupid, especially if they have young players likely to return. Get on a roll, and it could create some confidence to carry into next year. Anyone in Iowa City able to step on Patrick's foot over the next few days?
