Iowa Baseball Friday now a doubleheader at 2:00 P.M. (CT)

Getting a run around on tickets and games. We got tickets for Saturday's game, which is actually still on I think. Doubleheader Friday now. So, if you bought tickets to Friday's game you now are treated to 2 games for 1. If Saturdays game is moved to Sunday we wont get our seats and have to sit out on the grassy birm....(general admission) or not go at all. Anyone ever heard of this, lol, or dealt with this? How are things done in this situation for home games? I would think game 2 on Saturday would be the one moved to game 2 Friday....but what do I know? I was told this is standard across college baseball. If we don't get a game in Saturday, we get no refund for our tickets, we can use tickets down the road at another game. Why would I do that, not a Husker fan. Wow.

There are Nebraska fans complaining about this too I saw on twitter.

Friday ticket is good for both. Depending on the day of the third game it's the Sat/Sun ticket. One thing I guarantee is either Sat or Sun you wont have to sit in the grass. No way that many people show up on those dates.

Where did you get your tickets from? Through Iowa or through Nebraska? (Through Nebraska I assume).

You could always call the Nebraska ticket office and get an official response or see if they'd work with you. Never hurts to try.

I called Nebraska AD dept with no luck. All I really needed from them was to verify game change tho, game still on Saturday so far. Bought tickets section 104 between home plate and Hawks dugout 10 rows up. The thing is if no game Saturday and we go to game Sunday we have to sit in general admission, or if game 3 doesn't get played I'm out about $200.00.

I paid $150 for 2 season tickets for Iowa Baseball behind home plate, but somehow I doubt that makes you feel any better.

Like Couppee, I have season tickets. They have date and time, but they are also listed as "game 1", etc, so there's not really a problem fitting things together if games get moved up or are postponed a day.

Anyone making the trip tomorrow? I wanted to get seats behind the dugout but apparently the entire lower level is already sold out so I grabbed one off StubHub for an extra buck. Weather should be good for the first game at least. Wind will be blowing out to the outfield.

If the wind is blowing out then look out. That place can be a launching pad out to left field with wind.

4 tickets - $156.00
Handling - $32.00
Tickets emailed - $6.00

If no game sat or sunday, I'm not out that much. Lol. No wonder these universities are worth billions.

I would do the following:

* Demand a refund, which Nebraska probably won't do; if so,

* Call your credit card company or bank and state that you want to dispute the charge, describing the situation. You will get temporary credit to your account. Nebraska will get a letter from your bank stating the charge was disputed; it is up to them to reply back to your bank stating the charge was valid. If they ignore the letter, you will get permanent credit to your account. I have done this several times and trust me, companies (or universities, in this case) don't get to these letters and you will get your money back.

Good luck. Let me know how this goes because I really think if you can't use the tickets you will get your money back by disputing the charge.

btw, are your Saturday tix good for either Sat or Sun? In other words, you don't have to pay any additional money on tickets, correct?

If Sat and Sun get canceled, I would dispute the charge and try to get my money back, because like you said, you won't be going to a future Husker game this season.

but if this weather situation happened at Iowa, does Iowa have the same policy as Neb for those who buy for just one game? I suppose it says on the ticket "purchases are non refundable."

And for season ticket holders I am sure you get no credit for games canceled, like the 3rd game vs IU, correct?

Man, the weather across the midwest has created havoc for college and MLB baseball. I have a niece visiting at the end of the month and there is no way in hell I am buying Twins tickets until the day of the game because you just don't know if it will be raining or snowing!

No, I can't go Sunday if sat doesn't happen. I can use for games in the future, BUT not the seats I paid for, only general admission. What a crock....I'll get in touch with my bank and see what I can do if game is moved or canceled all together.

Yes, tix are spendy I was shocked, but wanted to see the Hawks in Lincoln being near Omaha....

if you can't use the tix because of the weather, definitely dispute the charge.

Get this: I bought a $100 airline ticket to Chicago on Spirit airline; I had a conflict and could not sue the ticket. I called my bank and told them I could no longer use the ticket and asked if it could be disputed. They did, sent a letter to Spirit, Spirit did not respond (they only get so much time), and I got a permanent $100 credit back to my account. So much for non-refundable airline tickets!

That's what my complaint was and the AD Dept couldn't quite grasp it. Why not move game 2 to Friday and let us use our sat tix for entry to the 605 PM game? They told me what they do is normal across college baseball I cried foul and called it BS.

Don't know for sure how Iowa would handle, but Iowa doesn't really have the volume of pre-sales and season tickets that Nebraska does. Most of the good Iowa crowds are when people buy day of game or earlier in the week when they know that weather will be good.

They have a very quick turnaround (30 minutes or so) between Games 1 and 2 on Saturday. Would be difficult to clear stadium and get everyone back in before Game 2. The issue is they sell out or come close to it so it's not as easy to make on the fly changes.

Re: Iowa, specific seats, and GA:

Iowa really doesn't have this problem. So many of the seats that are possible to reserve for season tickets aren't actually reserved due to lack of sales, so for instance, most of the section behind home is still "general admission." I don't even know if it is possible to buy reserved seats for just one game.

Iowa season ticket holders get to pick their seats and in the past they are marked with gold stickers I believe.

With that said this weekend is a VERY important series. Nebraska has some quality arms in Alvarado and Hohensee. They have guys like Schreiber and Wilkening who have some pop. You CANNOT let Schreiber beat you, he is their big power guy.

Fortunately Nebraska’s only healthy arms seem to be Alvarado and Hohensee. Heller has had Erstad’s number since 2014.

Very true. I'd hate to see that change this year as losing the series hurts Iowa obviously with Nebraska's RPI.

Iowa should avoid pitching to Schreiber unless they absolutely have to. You hate to walk a guy, but he is hitting .411 with 11 HRs.

Error followed with 2 singles by Nebraska puts them up 1-0 and runner start on first and second no outs. Gonna be a long day and a long season from here on in boys... Get used to it

Long season? You've obviously not followed Iowa baseball long. It's a damn fine season so far and substantially better that before Heller came to charge. Quit being a reactionary defeatist.

It was a joke, sorry... Wanted to see the reaction but obviously it wasn't very funny. Deleted the last part after the next post said huh

Excellent damage control by Nick right here. After a pass ball made it 2nd and 3rd with no outs, he strikes out the next 2 and gets a groundout to Crowl to end the inning only giving up 1 run. 1-0 Nebraska after 1 inning

video link?

I appreciate what Zach does on radio but it is frustrating at times. Especially "got 'em swinging" on strikes 1 or 2.
