They really got after it spearheaded by Joe T who started off the half disrupting everything. I think everyone(for the most part)can agree that that’s the type of effort most would be pleased with regardless of the outcome of the game.

Iowa actually out rebounded Indiana last night!! Similar sized teams so Indiana is a team Iowa should be able to compete with on the boards. However, the ISU game showed what happens when the effort isn’t there….-18 on rebounds on that game

Iowa can be a tournament team if they compete at a high level the rest of the year. Ultimately that’s the key. It was great to see for 20 minutes last night but most nights that won’t cut it, especially on the road and against some of the monsters we will see in conference play.

Great points! A lot more effort on the defensive end against IN, especially in the second half. Iowa really looked out of sorts in the 1st half when Keegan went out, but they seemed to regroup. The start of the 2nd half was great. When they struggled to score they really turned on the pressure and forced several turnovers and rushed shots. Great game!

The press is surprisingly effective- it really doesn't look like much, but effectively rattles teams without allowing easy buckets if the other team breaks it successfully..

Let's hope the defense and rebounding of the second half was not just a one-off. It has been in the past years. This team has the ability to pretty good IMO if they play like the second half consistently,

When you go as many guys deep as Fran does, there is absolutely zero excuse for a lack of effort. We’ve got a solid backup at every position plus plenty of roster flexibility, they should be playing balls out all the time.

Held IU to 26 2nd half points.
Indiana was 14-18 on 2 point shots in first half. Then 6-13 in second half. That, with the turnovers and Iowa's efforts on the boards, resulted in best half of defense all year for Iowa. Iowa put them at the line more in the second half, and that's fine. I'm fine with Rebraca, Ogundele, CMac, everyone with last name other than Murray, committing fouls to stop layups and dunks.

Results won't always be as good as that one half, that sort of effort consistently would be enough to get Iowa into the tournament. I don't care who starts Fran, but please just pencil in Kr. Murray for at least 25 minutes each game. He is clearly Iowa's 2nd best player. He has played the 8th most minutes on the team this year. If this continues the coach is letting his team down.
