My confidence is motivated by your coaching staff. That style of defense (?) was directly responsible for nearly losing to the worst team in the league who was also MISSING THEIR BEST PLAYER (Vic Law). You have an athletic freak 4* (Jones) that can’t get off the bench while Underwood plays his kid? Hahahahaha ...Your coach is a dummy and his players play dumb basketball.
Give Iowa as many wide open three looks as you gave Northwestern (all night long), and we’ll bury you just like we did in IC. Foul Iowa repeatedly 40 feet (or more) from the basket for no good reason at all and we’ll make you pay. Doesn’t matter how smart or dumb you play Cook or Garza or Kriener because you have no one who can guard any of them.
You know it as well as I do. This is a worse matchup for you than penn state, who whipped you handily both times.

Your point about Tevian Jones not playing is completely ignorant. He's been disciplined this season and lately he's been recovering from illness.
Beating this roster proves nothing. We have one post player and that's your strength. Giorgi is a 4/5 playing strictly 5. Kipper is the backup 5 and he's a 3/4 who somehow broke his shot this season. Adonis De La Rosa is a decent 5 that's awful because he came back too soon from a torn ACL. Teams should beat that.
Unfortunately for you, you have a complete roster, and you still play worse defense than Illinois by 26 spots. McCaffery's defensive prowess is non-existant.
Fran’s teams don’t play D. Period.
We will still outscore you by 20 though.

I'll enjoy your typical 1 and done. Had your team shot just 50% from 3 the first time we play, it's a tie ball game. You won't have another historic shooting performance, and your D is bad enough that anybody can beat you.
Realistically, you played a terrible OOC schedule. You beat only one team that won 20 games or more in conference (if you ignore the one good win you had in Michigan the record of all of the other conference wins were 122-129 and 55-105 B10).
You've lost 5/6 and 5/8. The 3 you beat in the last 8 were Indiana, Rutgers, and NW. Indiana was in OT. Rutgers and NW were buzzer beaters.
You have this perception of yourself because you won 20 games, but you've won 20 games because you beat the bottom of the conference and won 6 games against D3 schools in the non-con.

Um, have you read this board? There are very few Iowa fans who are thumping their chest over this season. Just about every one of us is absolutely fed-up with this team and its head coach. But, win or lose today, we've had a better season than Illinois.
P.S. - That bit about how a 24-point loss shoulda-coulda-woulda been a tie was an absolute classic. Are you an Iowa St football fan, too?

Fair enough, but you have to realize that no one can take you seriously after the "it's a tie ballgame" comment. That is something right out of the Iowa St and Nebraska playbooks.
It was just an illustration of how far above the norm you guys shot that night. Unless you guys do something like that again, it will be a dog fight.
