**Iowa vs OSU BTT Game Thread**

Most disappointed in Dembele, what the ****, 6-8 and refuses to dunk the ball! That just can't happen even at the end of the season. He shows promise, but I just don't like him hanging out on the 3 point line, he needs to be a warrior under the basket.
As for Freeman, he was going up against the best big men in the conference all year and handled himself admirably even being named Co-Big Ten Freshman of the Year, he has nothing to be ashamed of. He might have worn out some but he's going to be a beast next year.
Fran does not put Dembele in the position to succeed. Same with Tony.

Every time I watch the Hawks play, I end up thinking of Bob Knight and how many shoes he would lose putting his foot up these guys arse. No defense & no rebounding fundamentals at all. My wife even asked me if fmac had a weight training program for these guys. Other teams sometimes look like it's men vs. Boys.

Dembele was great this year. He has the same problem as Brock. Inconsistent/odd playing time. Ladji has a very good shot. Has % wasn’t high but his shots were very consistent and always very close. He just needs game experience. His defense was great at the beginning of the year and like all iowas players got worse as the season progressed. The Fran way.

Iowa has no open scholarships to get, and even if Fran had some, he'd eff it up. When you have no NIL there's very little chance to get someone that is worth a crap whether Fran go's for a front line player or a guard. That's why he recruits HS players.
As for those that have Fran fatigue why the **** are you even watching Iowa basketball at this point in the season,
Either it's all talk or you're just throwing out BS, evidently it's not enough fatigue to not watch the games and harp on the fact that Fran isn't satisfying your Hawkeye cravings.
Just wave good bye, see you next year and save your Fran Fatigue until next year.
14 ****ing years dude, with nothing to show for it. Yes, I’m fatigued. I still watch the games because I’m a Hawkeye fan. It’s not that complicated.

I don't think @torbee can accept this at this junction.
It’s a dumb argument. He’s a solid B coach in a tough conference. Typically overachieves preseason expectations (even this year, preseason poll had Iowa 9th)

I wouldn’t be bummed if he left. I think Iowa can replace him with an equivalent or better coach.

But he’s quite respected nationally.

This was always going to be a rebuilding year and the final record was about what I expected.

Hit portal. Have Brock shoot 10,000 practice threes in offseason. Then next year should be a tourney team.

It’ll be the same product next year and the next. We don’t have the athleticism to make a run. Nothing against Fran, but yeah, it’s time for a change. 14 years to make a run and the guy can’t do it. Beth will need to make some decisions as Carver reaches lickliter levels of emptiness.

I was surprised OSU shot 55% from 3 when I checked the box score, I swear it felt like 80%. Rebounds were also much closer than I guessed.

But we just did not shoot well enough to win. I think overall 41% vs osu 52%.

We don’t have the strength, athleticism or depth to compete consistently at a high level. We really never challenged in this game. We were mostly down 7-12 points the entire game.

Did not have the horses this year. I would love a reset. Keep Freeman, Harding, Dix, P Sandfort, Dembele, incoming frosh and then hit portal hard.

let's sing the NIT song
"NIT, here we come
NIT, here we come
NIT, here we come
cuz we really suck
*clap, clap*
cuz we really suck"

You can call me dumb. But it is not a dumb argument. All that matters in college basketball is post season. He has failed time after time. He refuses to teach defense. He refuses to go against the big dogs in recruiting.

I'm sorry, but nothing I said is untrue.

Disappointing but expected. Typical tournament flame out.

And I don't even care.
This is the correct answer.
Apathy is real
I do have to say coming into games expecting to lose is much easier on my mental health. This is a wash, rinse, repeat program. Until Fran is gone nothing will change.
