**Iowa vs OSU BTT Game Thread**

Let’s be honest. This is where this was headed. We denied it. We hoped it would not rear its head. But we knew. They had a nice little hot streak, where they shot the ball well, but once that disappeared, and it usually does, they were exposed as a team that doesn’t play very good defense. And when the shots aren’t falling, they have nothing to fall back on.

Watching ISU now. Night and day between Iowa and ISU talent.
Jeezus.

I'm not near depressed or drunk enough for that!

But seriously. I've been pretty much over this loss since the last media timeout. Wake me up when Fran wants to make the fans "Mad Again".

He's terribly good at making me extremely apathetic to MBB here the last few seasons - save for that great stretch from January through the BTT in '22.

Ok boys lets look ahead to NIT hope Fran plays his freshman ALOT
You actually made me laugh. Thanks for that.

No way that Patrick doesn't get less than 25+ minutes in his last game in an Iowa jersey. And Krikke & TP will get way too much playing time, as well.

And those personnel decisions will ensure the last 3 games of Iowa's 2023-24 season will be mostly lifeless losses.

Can't happen. You don't suddenly become a final four or Big Ten Champion after the number or years Fran has been at Iowa.

He had the AP player of the year 3 times, and still couldn't get out of the first weekend of NCAA.

This year, he MIGHT get Iowa into NIT.

It's over

Perkins has never gained control of his emotions and his overall BBall IQ is lacking, but JMO
Yep he was never stoic played great when things were great played worse when things were not going well Josh however plays steady good or bad

I know dude just trying to be optimistic maybe pmac will voluntarly sit the NIT out

Some of you scoff when I said I don’t want Perkins back. Our consistent mediocrity is due to just that. People playing an extra year and stealing one from an underclassman. Yes you might have a tough season but it might be what it takes to have an excellent season.
Perkins is far from irreplaceable.

I agree Harding had just as many minutes as Tony but i felt Brock was in charge

I disagree.

Why would he leave? He gets paid millions and all he has to do is be better than Lickliter.
You are correct but that is why I am hopeful for higher expectations with Goetz. Barta was absolutely terrified to make any moves after Lickliter. As long as a coach had a 55% win pct. he wouldn't do a damn thing.

I could see Beth sandbagging for one more year and then pay Fran off. If we are lucky maybe a new coach comes with a Carver reno as well.

Tony should go elsewhere and get paid. He’d be a nice addition as a 2, which is the position he should be playing, for a team with a chance to make a tourney run.
Continuing to have Fran at the helm is the bigger contributor to consistent mediocrity.

Fran fatigue is real. I have zero confidence he’ll bring in any difference makers in the portal. The program needs a hard reset.
Iowa has no open scholarships to get, and even if Fran had some, he'd eff it up. When you have no NIL there's very little chance to get someone that is worth a crap whether Fran go's for a front line player or a guard. That's why he recruits HS players.
As for those that have Fran fatigue why the **** are you even watching Iowa basketball at this point in the season,
Either it's all talk or you're just throwing out BS, evidently it's not enough fatigue to not watch the games and harp on the fact that Fran isn't satisfying your Hawkeye cravings.
Just wave good bye, see you next year and save your Fran Fatigue until next year.

Perkins did nothing recently with the season on the line that makes me want to see him come back. Thanks Tony for being a Hawk and all the best for the future. It’s time for us all to move on.

Need to have Jan Jensen work with Ladje and Freeman if you want to see big man improvement. Frans staff certainly cant coach them up.
Most disappointed in Dembele, what the ****, 6-8 and refuses to dunk the ball! That just can't happen even at the end of the season. He shows promise, but I just don't like him hanging out on the 3 point line, he needs to be a warrior under the basket.
As for Freeman, he was going up against the best big men in the conference all year and handled himself admirably even being named Co-Big Ten Freshman of the Year, he has nothing to be ashamed of. He might have worn out some but he's going to be a beast next year.
