Badgers -5.5
O/U 162.5

Like Iowa, Wisconsin has feasted on beating bad teams early at 0-2 in conference they badly need this one tonight.

I’m seeing 82-75 badgers

My bold predictions -

The Kohl Center will be rocking
Freeman will be in foul trouble
Wisky will feast on layups and wide-open 3's
The Badgers will smother Sandfort, he will go 2-10 from 3
Hawks out rebounded by double figures.
Dix will be solid

Badgers 81-68.

Have not watched Wis. this year but it looks like they are lead by their three guards:
Tonje- 19 pts/game- transfer from Mizzou and col.st...6th year player
Blackwell- 14pts
Klesmith- 12 pts

Then bigs:
Winter- 11 pts
Crowl- 11pts.

It is crazy how Wis brings in aj Storr last year from st John's and he is their best player at 17pts/GM
Then he bails for BIG bucks to KU, his 3rd team in 3 years.(7pts/GM)
So Wis buys Tonje from mizzou to replace storr.
Then Mizzou buys Tony Perkins from Iowa to replace Tonje.
Iowa gets thelwell to replace Tony.

So far, I think Iowa did ok in this game of musical shooting guards.
Just nuts.

Sadly sounds about right.
Iowa not built for grind it out road games.

Iowa upgraded.

People calling Perkins a pt guard last year were clueless. He's a 3rd guard.

The offensive is so much better this year going from no pgs to two and having proper floor spacing.

Fran could have played 3 guards last year if not for the desire to shoehorn Patrick into the rotation.

One of their bigs will have to defend Payton making it pretty unlikely he could be smothered. But Payton can do 2-10 all on his own by making his shots harder for no reason.

If Iowa has a shot Payton needs to kill the big on offense.

look for a few isolation plays for Payton to take the big one on one. He will need to finish or get the big in foul trouble.

The Kohl Center has been a house of horrors for most Iowa teams, but surprisingly I feel somewhat optimistic that this team gets a road win there tonight. Maybe I'm just drunk on eggnog still?

FVCK WISCONSIN forever and ever, then even longer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But that said, expecting the sad reality of yet another L tonight.

Line up to Badgers -6.5

Badgers are not a great shooting team but they are #1 in free throw percentage. They are also in top 20 in turnovers. They don’t give it away much.

I do like the mental toughness of this team better than previous editions, but Payton is going to have to stop thinking he's the man for us to have a chance in BT competition. This team doesn't have any go to guys, with Josh being the closest.

It keeps coming back to...can we defend/rebound? Those things aren't magically going to start happening.

Who are the refs assigned to the game? If Scirotto or Green are there, our chances to win are greatly diminished.

By this point, I'm pretty sure it isn't a matter of not having the knowledge or 'skillset'. Its always been a matter of effort and willingness to do those things ... or more like the extreme lack of either.

And that's on Fran and his staff for letting them continually play that way.

P. Sandfort it a team killer. Just needs to fill his role. He is not an NBA player or even an All Big Ten player like he thinks he is. Every bad shot that he takes ends up in points for the other team.

Sandfort is like the little girl with a curl. When he is good, he is very, very good. He needs to be more consistent on his shot selection.

He needs to learn that he is not Steph Curry. He needs to learn how to be a teammate. His play is selfish as all get out

He's a shoot to get hot, shoot to stay hot.... shoot shoot shoot and shoot some more type player. Fran loves this. But he can shoot you right out of games when he's cold.

Freeman needs to stay out of first half foul trouble. If we could place a bet on when he gets his 2nd foul I'd take under the 12 minute mark every game.

He'll have his 2nd foul called during pregame warmup.

Definitely a coaching deficiency.

Great chance for the Hawks to get on the right side of the NET. I’m optimistic. Traore is healthy and may have a big impact, defense is contagious and it’s suffered without his energy.

All Iowa has to do is go 12-8 in conference and NET takes care of itself, doesn't it? It is only when Iowa gets closer to 10-10 in conference that Bubble issues arise.

We seem to do better at Kohl than we do at Purdue for instance. My guess would be 30% chance of winning, I'm all for winning.
