They always do, but Iowa has a better win. At this point it doesn't really matter though. Iowa isn't going to go undefeated anyway. Let's just hope all of the losses they do have come before the tournaments.
She would have had more assists if her teammates could make a friggin layup.
give me a roster full of Syd and Kylie any day. They bust their butts and get after it. Thought Molly did some good things too. Plenty to work on for sure but good start.

My thoughts exactly. Goodman isn’t bad….but getting a better post in the portal would make a huge difference in our title chances. Someone who can finish the CC pick & roll consistently could easily average 15+.
Stuelke is a good player, but I wish she was more of a threat in half-court O. She’s not a great shooter, but could still use her size/athleticism to drive past bigs or post up smaller players.
Love how Gabby gets after it on D. She worked hard the entire game guarding a very active & good PG, which makes it much harder to shoot well yourself or work hard to get open.
Hopefully a gift that keeps on giving for one more year as well...pretty, pretty please!
As someone who only jumped on the bandwagon last season, I was not familiar with her. She came in and drove the ball with quickness, then had that jab step 3, and I was like who is this??? To me, she sure looked like our second best guard out there…
She (Stuelke) also could be a stronger defender on the block. She doesn't move quickly to defend the drive under the hoop. She will get there!
Seen Goodman attempt a little no-dribble (Czinano) move but the shot got blocked by their 6'-5" big. Jan J. is such a good teacher!
Freshmen, new people who never saw the floor last year, basically the same thing.
There is NOBODY better for the sport of Basketball......maybe for all sports.

I wish that Iowa could have picked up a good post player in the portal. A solid 6'5" post would be nice.

She sure is in rare company. I just love how she changes her game if something isn't quite right. Last night the 3 was not falling in the first half....no problem....I'll just take it to the hole. 40 minutes of pure energy and incredible basketball from her.
She got away with 1 for sure maybe 2 travels. She does have to work on that off arm extension but she gets mugged all the time, there will always look like contact because she is the other teams primary focus.
Notice how iowas post never dribble. they don't have to be a threat. The threat from iowas post players is that they can catch the passes that lead to easy points. screen roll, flash, drop to the weakside box. etc.
They just have to be ready and put the easy ones in. I can't for the life of me understand why some quality big did not beg to come here and shoot 75% with the offense and passing we have.
The shooting will come around for Gabbie. And she is consistently good on defense. Amoore had a lot of points, but Gabbie made her work for them. And she had a great defensive stop on Amoore at a critical point late in the game. Actually, if the help would have been a little better on the pick and rolls Amoore would have scored less.
And let's give Goodman a chance. It was her first game with meaningful minutes and she was going against one of the better bigs in the country. With more game experience, and coaching from Jensen, I would not be surprised if there is a lot of improvement.
I would go with a starting 5 of Clark, Marshall, Martin, Stuelke and Affolter.
