It's been mentioned before, but her brother plays at Grinnell (with Bluder's son). She's mentioned in an interview that she's close with her brother. Iowa isn't close to home, but it's close to an important family member.
Didn't know that but that does make things interesting for sure.
Her brother is a freshman at Grinnell, so they would have two years together in Iowa.
Pretty deep in the weeds at this point, but this Tweet (the Iowa eyes reply) was liked by Kevin Kiernan, Deal's HS coach and Athletic Director. If you needed further confirmation I'd say that's it.

Deal is a Guard/Wing. She is not a PG but she is the kind of player that can play probably anything 1-4 under Bluder. Very versatile. ESPN actually highlighted her as one of the top 2 most versatile players in the 2025 class. She would ideally replace Affolter at the 3 IMO.
In Iowaās system they will be interchangeable.
