Wager?
You don't seem to understand the point I was trying to make.
Wager?
Type slower next time. You don't seem to understand the point I was trying to make.
Actually it was. The hit the center on the snap which is illegal, they committed a hold on the return. None of which was called.
however, to answer the question you asked, the reason Sparty is not ahead of Oklahoma because Oklahoma has the right name on the jersey. Oklahoma is a traditional power and Michigan State is not. It's that simple. It's why they can't forgive North Carolina's loss to South Carolina but can Oklahoma's loss to Texas.
Not sure why it matters. Iowa and Michigan State is a play in game.
Florida WILL NOT beat Alabama the other two are possible.
Yes, that's a fact. But coming from a man of a team that faced 12 straight back-up coaches......
Nah. Some of them were first-year guys, not lame ducks.
But seriously, folks......there's no question injuries have killed TCU this year, and that both TCU and Baylor had legitmate Heisman candidates at QB before injuries.
Damn you must have a great crystal ball.I just can't believe that if total CHAOS ensues this weekend that they "the committee" will put a a 2 loss Stanford team in the final 4 over a 1 loss OSU team.
This year just screams an 8 teams playoff is needed. Give every major conference champion a spot and then 3 at large teams. I mean because right now you are splitting hairs between 1-2 loss teams and mind you the 2 loss team LOST TO NW. I don't care if it was played at 9 am their time. All Big Ten teams travel out west and play at 9pm their time and there is no argument for them! Basically what this committee is saying "lose early in your season" doesn't matter who it is, just lose early. If you lose late, your penalized more.
The NCAA & college football is becoming a joke by this logic. They need a metric to measure this crap.
Damn you must have a great crystal ball.
1. To paraphrase Roy Scheider in "Jaws": I gotta get a bigger smiley face. And you gotta get better information.huh?? You make no sense?
So Pat Fitz is a first year coach? Hazell at PU is a first year coach. Wilson at IU is a first year coach? Rhodes a first year coach??
Iowa can't control who their opposing teams coaches are or their schedule. They beat 12 teams this year when everyone was saying their max # of wins would be between 6-8.
Iowa has had some serious injuries this year and they were able to overcome. TCU & Baylor were good offensively, but their defense sucked. Big 12 needs a conference championship game. I would of loved is OSU would of beat OU, then the big 12 would of been left out again.
1. To paraphrase Roy Scheider in "Jaws": I gotta get a bigger smiley face. And you gotta get better information.
2. I said first-year or lame-duck. Is Fitz the only one who doesn't fit that description? There might be others. But by far most fit that description.
3. Who said the max wins would be 6-8? IIRC, the consensus on this board was that only 6-8 wins would get KF fired. Many wanted him fired after 7-5 last year against a tougher schedule.
4. TCU's defense was devastated by injuries before the season opened, and the situation got worse as it progressed. The final blow was when the QB was injured. And yes, Iowa had injuries, and deserves great credit for overcoming them. But Iowa has nobody as good -- or as important to the team -- as Boykin. Few, if any, teams do.
5. If there ever was a legitimate case to be made for a Big XII championship game, this season blew it out of the water. Everybody played everybody else and one team finished with a better record than anybody else. WTF would anybody think another game is necessary?
And Oklahoma played the second half of the TCU game with a backup quarterback. But you are correct that Baylor, TCU and Okie State were not at full strength when they played OU.Yes this year was fine, what about last year? What if that scenario comes up next year? What is the Big 12 going to do? Complain about how they get no respect and their teams dropping? Sorry but you have to have a conference championship game the committee has even stated numerous times this year "Conference Champions will get a better look" than someone who didn't win their conference. That's why some are saying UNC or Stanford could jump a 11-1 Ohio State.
OU got lucky that they played the 3 toughest teams on their schedules with their back-up QB's starting.

As for the championship game thingie......people like you were ridiculing the Big XII in the days when it had a championship game and the Big Ten didn't, because the championship game cost the Big XII a shot at the national championship a couple of times.
The most memorable was in '98, when Kansas State came into the game 11-0, led throughout the game, and was upset in double overtime by Texas A&M. The Wildcats definitely would have played for the title if that game had not been played.
Northwestern isn't in the PAC 12 Stanford still has a chance to be a conference champion.I do not, but every talking head is pushing Stanford. I realize the committee is separate, but they have said themselves, they place a "emphasis" on conference champions. How is that fair when Stanford lost to NW?
