Normally I don't see CR stands begin having sweet corn until roughly the 2nd to 3rd weeks of July. We also (while having plentiful rains) haven't had that serious hot streak of weeks yet. Just kind of surprised we got "Iowa" sweet corn this early.
Also, I've always thought the early ears tend to not be fully grown. Smaller kernels, no kernel ends, etc. I usually wait until around August 1st before buying.
But hey...if they're good ears, sign me up.
