Jackson Stratton would likely be QB1 if Iowa had to play today vs Maryland (confirmed by Kirk on Wed night, Nov 20)

Well in that situation is #1 allowed to change the play? Kind of stuff I would want to know. How much leeway does the QB have out there. We know the read option stuff the QB has the option keep the ball based on his read.

Doesn't Lester radio down play changes to the QB's headset and then the QB changes the play?

IT USED TO BE that the QB was in charge of reading the defense & changing the play

Now, I don't know....

What's the deal with Cade's lengthy concussion recovery? How often does it take a guy several weeks to be cleared? Seems pretty rare.
Says two things really - 1) teams/players historically don't have a good record of waiting until concussion symptons totally clear up and rush them back - See Tua for the best current example; 2) we don't honestly know how severe the concussion was, or if it was the first Cade has experienced in his career.

I still can't get used to the whole offense standing up and looking to the sideline to get a new call.

Hopefully it was Cade's first and last

I'm 100% in the Cade only plays if he is the last guy standing camp. I don't like his height, his lack of speed or even the way he grips the football. There is nothing positive I can say about him in regards to what he could bring to the Iowa offense.

and we only have 3 games left so might as well turn the page and tell Sully that this is his job to win or lose.

Good grief this idea parroted by some that "they" need to teach Sully how to slide or go out of bounds on the end of a run as if "they" haven't is ludicrous. Sully knows darn well he should be doing that. He panicked when the rush came and ran it when he should have scrambled and found a receiver or thrown it OOB.

is Stratton QB1 the rest of the season now?

Cade, a gimpy, slow, 6th-year senior could start next game? WHY?

If he and Sullivan are healthy, Sullivan should start without question. If neither is healthy, Stratton will be ready to go by then. Hell, he did a great job @ UCLA, making two amazing third-down throws and leading Iowa to a touchdown.

Cade should be on the shelf the rest of the way UNLESS every other QB is injured. Period. I mean, what the hell would be the upside of starting McNamara?
I agree. In that vein, sit Higgins, Jackson, Harris and half the OL and DL. THAT will show how things are done right!

I agree with Cade as last option as long as Stratton can run enough plays. He’s only been back getting reps in the Iowa playbook for two weeks. It’s down to just those two guys now.

I can say at least two positive things about Cade. He usually makes good reads and his speed is adequate. The negatives are well known.
