Why is this not good for Courtney? It is her first head coaching job and gets to coach her sister.
If the situation was normal it would be fine, but it isn't. WL has a good team returning, but everything now becomes focused on the sister and her dad. Her dad will not improve his behavior just because Courtney is the coach. There is also the possibility of bad feelings between players and parents who will see favoritism in certain situations. The transfer is solely because of a power play move by dad. Will other players and parents view dad as the de facto coach?
The plus is that Courtney has awareness of her dad's issues and has been dealing with them already. But, she is young. It's an extra thing to heap on her as a young coach.

Guess we will see. They only had 8 girls out in the entire high school for bb last year and would be very surprised if they don't increase that number this year. Just think you are mistaken about the students and parents and potential problems.

It was more about not playing for the new coach at City High. Brian told City if they hired her he’d take his daughter somewhere else.
If he said that, it most likely was not because he objected to the person who was hired, but because he wanted his daughter to be promoted from assistant to head coach.

I think this can be over-analyzed. It's only natural that the girl would want to be coached by her big sister. That's the reason Stacey Frese gave for transferring from Iowa to ISU. Doug McDermott switched from UNI to Creighton so he could play for his Dad. Cael Sanderson's brother transferred from ISU to Penn State when Cael got the job there. None of this is a Russian plot.

not a Russian plot. just another in a long line of things this guy has been involved in. If you knew him you would understand.

What he said was, "If you hire Barnard, we are leaving"

Had nothing to do with his oldest. Keep in mind that he barged into the locker room at halftime of a game this past season and told his daughter "Don't listen to that b*tch anymore" as he pointed to Barnard.

FYI...typing a lot of words doesn't help cover up that you have no idea what you are talking about.

Someone should have knocked him out as soon as that door opened

I don't care how many excuses are made...the mother and daughters should have taken care of his behavior many years ago.

And if he had any respect for them...he wouldn't be the way he is.

Your wife and daughters must view you the same way most of HORT does if they expect you to do something that would embarrass them.
I completely understand parents being passionate when watching their kids.

But there's a line you don't cross and that's entering locker rooms and confronting coaches.

Until I watched the Texas A&M? game against the Clonettes, I had no idea how obnoxious the old man was.

He has admitted on this site to yelling and screaming at his daughters and refs, so you can imagine what he was like.

Who is Joens, and can someone tag his handle & have a visit? 🤣

Have not. Would not surprise me if true. A lot of things go on at City that aren't tolerated at other schools.
Like how Moore requested his assistants be given positions in the building, and Bacon relocated multiple staff members to other buildings to make it happen? Or how he told at least one department to “not even look at any other applicants because they were going to hire one of the football assistants”? Bacon is a freaking snake.
