Jose Rodriguez transferring from tOSU

Sounds like u have been talking to a little bird!?! Cornell maybe?
I've heard nothing but I do know when he lived here he did want to originally go to Cornell. There's also other options, Hofstra is only 15-20 minutes away from his original home town and Columbia is on the rise with Tannelli as the new head coach and the NYCRTC in place now with Kendall Cross. I also wouldn't be surprised to see him at Oklahoma with Rosselli

What's up with Carr? His recruitment has been very quite. Most thought he was a tOSU lock. Does he have a top 5?

He was out here last summer training at Vito's dads club and told us he likes being in Ohio but I don't really know anything else outside of that. I'm very sure Tom is recruiting him though. I'd guess Cael and Dresser are as well and his brother is probably in his ear about going to Lock Haven (deep connection to PA with the Carr Family)

I would have to assume Vito and Yianni are also in his ear to go to Cornell. It wouldn't surprise me to see them both at Cornell

The Kootz twins are no longer listed as Ohio State commits.

I think the Kootz twins saw Pletcher with 3 years left and Mead, Hood, Decatur, and Heinselman coming and scattered!
The Koontz twins fear NOBODY.;)

Thanks for pointing that out -- will have to check with their dad and see if that's just an oversight. Was not aware of any changes in their plans. They've signed LOI's with tOSU, so I'd be surprised if they weren't still headed there.

Checked with their dad. They're still headed to tOSU -- nothing has changed. I hear Pletcher is considering transferring -- doesn't want to ride the bench for the rest of his career.

I went to the tOSU board... There is chatter about NATO going back to 125.... Yes, he wrestled down for the Open, but that was a 1 time weigh in and I believe the night before competition... Not the same as the grind of a college season. I am sure Ryan and company were already assessing options in case J Rod wasn't going to be back at 125.

NATO-125
Pletch-133
KeShawn-141
Micah-149/57
????-157
Burcher/Kresivic-165
Bo-174
MM-184
Moore-197
HWY-Snyder

Will be a tough line-up with holes at 49 or 57, and 65 depending on if Micah wants to go up or stay.

Te'Shaun Campbell at 165 for them too. They just need someone opposite Micah at 149/157 at that lineup is real tough.

Forgot about Fitzgerald at 133 too. He had a very nice redshirt year. Could we see this?

125: NATO
133: Fitz
141: Pletch
149: Hayes
157: Micah
165: Campbell
174 Bojo
184: Martin
197: Moore
HWT: Snyder

I think Hayes is way too small for 141... and Michah too small for 157. My guess is they scramble find a serviceable a 125..., and let NATO drop when it matters and save NATO from the grind of always being at 125.

TOSU has a lot of very good wrestlers coming in the next few years. Iowa better start signing some hammers in the 18/19 class or we're going to be fighting for third.

125: B. Koontz
133: D. Koontz
141: Pletch
149: Hayes
157: Micah
165: Campbell
174 Bojo
184: Martin
197: Moore
HWT: Snyder

tOSU seems like they have never had issues getting a guy to grow into the weight.

As far as I know the line up by march will probably be
125 NaTo
133 Pletcher
141 Hayes
149 Micah
157 actually have no clue Ryan/Burcher/Racer
165 Campbell
174 Bo
184 MyMar
197 Kollin Moore
285 Snyder

PS and off topic but great game today @PapaBearSLIM :p

Man, I see four with a great shot at winning it in that lineup. And that's not counting Mymar who has proven he can do it too, and beaten Bo multiple times.

Damn, maybe we should let the season play out before we anoint PSU.

There has not been any word on Isaiah White... but if he can transfer in.. and drop to 157.. he could finish as high as 2.
Not sure if either is still possible tho (transfer and/or drop to 157).

No.

Looking at two for sures (Nolf, Zain), two probables (Hall, Nickal), and a top fours in (Cenzo,Suriano, and maybe Nevills)...they could crown 5-6 champions.

I see OSU as similar. Snyder is a for sure. Moore and NATO are favorites imo. Jordan is a toss up with Hall. Mymar is a top 5 who has beaten Nickal multiple times. Pletcher at 33 is an AA. Micah is top 5.

2 champs, 2 other finalists, and 2 top 5s. Plus Pletcher, Hayes, Campbell. I dont think PSU runs away from that lineup.

tOSU is formidable, for sure. Bonus points will be big.

tOSU is formidable next year, but clearly PSU will be favored. 5 returning champs, most of them bonus machines, and add in likely #1 ranked (#2 at worst) Suriano at 125. PSU would have to have a meltdown or guys out with injuries to not repeat.

Micah has a heckuva consolation prize if he moves out of 149... No more getting manhandled by Zain but say hello to Nolf and Kemerer.

I like your repeated use of "multiple". You are technically correct with 2 being "multiple". (Btw, I would classify Bo's 4 wins against MyMar as "double multiple".)

To be fair, this will be tOSU's best lineup ever. Penn State will need 8 scoring wrestlers to beat them...
