Josh Dix

If Dix and Pryce return, we will have enough 6'4" to 6'7" guards and PF. We need some bigs as well. Would like to get a couple of them.

While I am disappointed that he will finish his career at a different school, I think this probably opens up possibilities to grab a different skill set. I am hoping the Hawks can get a SG with a real skill to get downhill. Josh was okay and had a good mid range but certainly wasn't scary to anyone that he was going to breakdown his defender one on one. That is the type player I would like to see partnered with Stirtz.

Dix could get downhill better than most if not all of Iowa's 2024-25 roster, and I would consider him pretty good at it, primarily because, despite his fairly pedestrian quickness, the defender always had to honor his exceptional pull-up jumper. He was also very crafty around the rim when he got there and finished consistently.

I'd be pleasantly surprised if they found a SG that was as good as Josh. He was/is way better than OK.

So, is the Dix to Creighton post confirmed? Very disappointed, but it showed something that Iowa was apparently in consideration until the end for probably much less $$$. Choice would be consistent with his desire to be near his family, and I certainly can't criticize that. If true, BMc now knows another position he needs to fill.

Watched 75%+/- of Creighton's game last three years and they play defense, do not foul a lot, get up and down the court, and shoot a lot of threes. They recruit a lot of three-point shooters. Good fit for Dix IMO. Creighton lost their three best players (two graduated and one in the portal that was hurt early this season) this year.

I will continue to watch Creighton because I like McDermott, their player discipline, and they are a Midwest team in the Big East.

Well, so much for those sources.
Reading between the lines a bit, I think perhaps it became apparent that Dix had turned down Indiana (and perhaps Illinois as well), and some folks assumed that this meant the choice would be Iowa. But that assumption was clearly wrong.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Iowa has a better year than Creighton in 25-26.

Really wish Josh had stayed, but understand if his mom is a big part of the decision.
