Juwan Howard done at Michigan

Don't really see it as a need, but Will Tschetter just seems like someone Fran will try and go after. They offered him out of high school.
Shot the crap out of the ball this year--52% from 3 on almost 2 attempts per game. And as a stretch 4, it's a pretty easy sell to with Krikke's minutes leaving. Like Krikke though, poor defense and poor rebounder...
That's got Fran written all over it.

I don't think Fran would even play a guy like Dug McDaniel.

This past season was their worst season since the 60's. Beilein never got enough credit for what he did at Michigan. Howard these past couple seasons ran the program into the ground. That combined with all the behavior issues is more than enough reason to give him the boot.

What was his buyout? Lucky for Michigan they can afford to kick him to the curb.

At little ole Iowa we are stuck with mediocrity and told that it's the best we can do.

You'd think that after getting in a fight with a second coach they would have been able to fire him with cause and avoid the buyout.

With Michigan’s reputation they will probably take Nate Oats. Heck he allowed a murderer to play all year for Bama.

How about incoming recruits?

Both Howard and holtman of OSU brought in highly rated recruits who only stayed one year before going NBA.
OSU- Branham. Sensebaugh
Mich- nett Howard, butkus

These kinds of recruits end up hurting teams more than helping if they depart immediately.

Better off focusing recruiting guys in the 30- 100 in top 100.

Mostly agree with this. One and done guys, while amazing talents, often don't allow the cohesiveness that a team needs to be great. Still, if Iowa can somehow steal one of UM or OSU's top players or recruits, why not? The center at OSU would sure look nice in a Hawkeye uni.

One year players are far more effective when they are 5th year guys who know how to play and just want to win.

Half of these one and done freshman don't know what they're doing.

good hire

damnit
Looks good on paper.
They always do...like lick and Alford.
Only time will tell.
Holtman seemed like a great hire at OSU.
Howard was golden after couple of years.
Michigan should always be respectable...but not this year.

Mediocrity?

Michigan finished last in the Big Ten.
