Kamala’s lead keeps dwindling. JFC this is pitiful.

Tell me. Was inflation a global issue and, if so, how did it compare here to other developed countries?
So, just because America’s high inflation was slightly less than other countries means it’s ok? Kind of like the old saying…just because everyone else jumps off a bridge…we should too? 😜

The Infrastructure bill had nothing to do with that inflation. Gald you admit the recovery has been good.

What do you expect Trump's plan for tariffs, deportations and widespread firings will do to inflation?
First, there wouldn’t have been a need for a “recovery” if high inflation hadn’t occurred under the Biden/Harris administration. Secondly, I (nor you) know what Trump’s policy plans will do to inflation? At least we know what his policy plans are (assuming they would get passed by Congress), unlike for Kamala. We do know that Trump’s 1st term in office didn’t generate high inflation.

That's what normal immigration has been for years....but yea, doing nothing is better
How about shutting the immigration “spicket” off for a period of time until those that have already come in can be vetted, allowed to assimilate, etc. 🤔

Well the dems are a bunch of lemmings.

Inflation was 9%…the bloated infrastructure bill certainly contributed to that.
No; it did not.

If it had, US inflation would have been higher than the rest of the Western world.
Only, US inflation has tracked lower than most.

I continue to think Kamala wins.
I continue to think that even if she doesn't, Trump 2.0 will be the end of things for him.

But, for those who like to get worked up about him trying to become king for life, I think I've found an existing constitutional pathway (textual at least - I didn't look whether the statutes seek to curtail it) for him to invoke, short of amendment, to make you sleep a little more restlessly at night, or at least to give you some armamentarium to invoke against people like me who don't believe it's remotely likely. Interestingly, the 22d amendment, which provides the 2-term limit, prohibits a person from being "elected" to the office of president if they have served two terms (or one term plus two years of the term of someone else elected). So, assuming no other valid ballot eligibility restrictions, he runs as vice president to some patsy, the patsy gets elected, then the patsy resigns, leading to his "succession" to the office of president, then he probably names the patsy to be the vice president. Voila! It's sort of like the Putin-Medvedev tandemocracy. And almost weird in how the amendment's sloppy drafting is similar to what created the result of the election of 1796. Honestly, it's a wonder that Biden-Obama didn't think of this.

You think Michael Flynn is going to rein Trump in?
Michael Flynn?!!! Sheesh Joe, you're digging perty deep into the old cast of characters there. For a whole bunch of reasons, including that even if he does get elected, we will once again not reelect him due to sheer exhaustion from him. As to "military coup" scenarios, you're probably well past sleeping restlessly at night already.

What does this have to do with the Electoral College today providing them "minority rule"?
The EC doesn't provide minority rule. States elect the POTUS, not the popular vote. We live in the United States of America. You might want to take a refresher civics course.

Guess I'll post this here in the doom thread as well:

Amazed that Scruffy hasn't swooped in yet to provide his oh so reliable and honest polling data to show you how wrong you are.

Guy has about 20 days left before he'll have to create a new username.

He's kicking his rhetoric into overdrive lately.

He's going to be insufferable these next few weeks, half tempted to take him off ignore just to hear his nuggets of wisdom. 😅

It was, for the same damn reason - they printed their currency to hand out. The policy caused the problem everywhere it was employed.

If the BoE and Fed both print money, both currencies will be inflated by the policy and prices will rise, but the Fed isn't responsible for the inflation experienced by the Pound.

We're the only nation on the planet that can export their inflation, because our currency is used for international trade, so we experience less inflation with this policy than a nation that didn't have the rest of the world using its currency would endure.

The root cause remains the same.

If all those usernames are handled by one person either they better be getting paid handsomely for their propaganda, or I never want to run into this person in real life because they're clinically insane. 😆

The latter is a given. They might be paid in day old food or beet root, whichever their Russian handlers prefer.

And two of the stimulus packages came from the Trump administration, right?
