Kemdawg vs Sueflohn

I disagree. Meyer at 165, Brooks at 174, Burak at 184 and Stoll at 197 with Easter Bunny sliding in at HWT is an ever better lineup. Might be a little far fetched but not much less realistic than you're lineup.
Spooner-
That's just crazy. We all know that Meyer can't cut any more. Plus EB has been working down to 157/165 and is now working down to 133/141 just in case.

Your post is completely wrong. The holes in our lineup are due to having less talent. We are full sized at 125, 133, 141 with Grothus, 149, 174,184, 197, and Hwt so I am not sure what you are even talking about. Btw don't tell Spooner, but next years lineup could be
Gilman
Clark
Turk
Kemdawg 49/57 are interchangeable
BS
Will be our only ?. Will the Bull RS?
Paddock
Meyer
Brooks
Stoll

This lineup is kind of what I think next year could be.

It depends in large part if you think that SSJ, Thompson, McQ, Erickson, Woodard, Shaw, Gunther, Moody, etc. or incoming frosh Young, Marinelli, Johnson at 165 are better than Holloway, Wilcke, Bowman, or a really slim Bradley at 197...unless Cayle Byers has eligibility left.

I would kind of like to see Bradley at 197 for a year or 2 then redshirt to work back up to heavy and go there after stoll.

I don't know why you would say that. I completely agree this is possible.

I agree with Bradley at 197 but do we have any idea if that is inside the realm of possibility?

However, if it is a matter of a guy cutting 25 pounds, anything is possible when you are in charge of making "crazy lineups".

Agree on Kemerer, as a matter of fact he should start doing it now.
I saw that Ironside wanted Sorenson to move up because he's stronger than an ox. But, with Kemerer already wrestling near that weight this past summer, I'd think the time is now also. BS claimed that weight for good with his last match (wasn't any doubt that he didn't own the weight, just punctuated his ownership with that takedown of Tshirt).

Our best lineup

Gilman
Clark
Kem
Grothus
BS
Rhoads
Meyer
Brooks
Burak
Stoll

That lineup would win it all. Our current lineup may still win it all. There is a lot of season left.
Respectfully, I'd have to say that having Kemerer cut would be a disservice to him and the team. He's already cut down fromthe summer, and I think BS should stay at 149, kind of think he earned it.

From what I hear, Kemerer already makes a tough cut to 149. He is very disciplined in his approach for a true freshman but is getting bigger. Just a thought.

I guess @184 and @133 your idea of large and mine are different. I already said the others were good to go as far as size/frame.

My post = talent plus size beats talent; exceptional talent can beat size and talent, but it's rare. It is better to have size and develop it as opposed to trying to fit a small/average guy into a spot and hope he is exceptional--especially with our recruiting philosophy (more is better).

At the end of the day I only see @125 @149 and @197 as possible NCAA champs this year. It's still to be determined if @141 he could be in the first group or the second. The 2nd group includes @174 @184 @HWT. At this point, this group has no size/strength advantage over top guys and have not shown exceptional talent to overcome this deficit. @133 I am on the fence. He does not have a size/strength/frame advantage, but he is very creative in how he's able to manufacture points and wins.

Clark has to be considered a possible national champ. My goodness -- the guy is a returning finalist, for crying out loud. He definitely has a shot. Plus, until his injury at Midlands, he was mowing down the competition. He's not a big 133, but he's shown quite convincingly that he's in the running for a national title this year. I love me some Nathan Burak, but I'd say Cory's chances at a national title are a good bit better than Nathan's.

I'll go a step farther and say Cory IS our best shot at at national champion... Quite frankly, if you see it any other way you're not thinking rationally.

I think watching the Rose Bowl has temporarily scrambled some Hawk fans.

IMO, I agree, Cory's got the best chance followed by Gilman then Sorensen. Burak and Brooks would need some help, but they're good. Stoll and Myers would need major flu outbreaks.

Considering Clark is the only one who has wrestled in a national championship final I would say he has the best shot. Nashon being healthy this year up at 33 looks to be his best competition along with Brewer who has 2 losses.

To be honest, I think Gilman is our best chance. He owned NATO until the B1G and the only guy he hasn't beat is Nico and of course, Moisey. Gilman's problem is that he tends to be conservative offensively against the top guys when his offense is probably the best in the country at that weight when he opens up.

March is a long time away and I have no doubt Cory could pull it out but Garrett is awfully athletic and will be able to get in on Cory's legs pretty easily. Cory has to basically do what Gilman did and give him no space but I don't know if Cory is as adept at head/hands defense as Gilman. It's why Gilman always gives Garrett problems...just better in his ties and at hand fighting.

Thankful we have a good one, two punch. I really wish we had PSU/tOSU on the schedule.

Gotta agree with you on Gilman opening up. He needs to keep attacking no matter who it is.

25 I see as a 4 man race, 133 as a 3 man race, and 49 as a 3 man race. So I wouldn't say he is the clear choice for an Iowa NC. I understand that because he was a finalist last year most people think he has the best chance to repeat that performance. I think CC had a pretty good seed last year at nationals. If CC meet up with Dardaines(sure I spelled that wrong) last year in the semi's do u think he would have still been a finalist? He was 0-2 against him and I'm not saying CC wouldn't have beaten him but the odds were not in his favor. All take a NC from 25,33,49 this year and just be so happy! Go Hawks!

Not that it matters, but Clark was literally 1 second away from beating Dardanes in the Big ten semis last year, he had 59 seconds of riding time and Dardanes got away, sending it to overtime, where he eventually lost.

Yah that sucked. Another match that would have given us the big ten championship. :( Lax u gonna be in Madison on the 15th? I'll be there with my old man since it's only 45 min from me. Only 2 bucks to get in and general admission seating.

Yeah i'll be there, perhaps we'll run into eachother. Or I can find some fellow hawk fans to sit by since i'll probably be alone. I have NO friends or family that are Hawkeye wrestling fans other than my HR family.

I'm sure there will be more Iowa fans then Wisconsin fans. If Jordan wrestles I'm thinking 9-1 if not then a clean sweep for Iowa.
