Kris deserves to start

I mean this is absolutely wild to think about… what if somehow Iowa had three time B1G POY (should be four time) in Garza > Keegan > Kris and never got past the 1st round?

Iowa needs someone to come off the bench that can score, Iowa wouldn't have won this game without Kris coming off the bench.
As for our 2 centers, they each need time on the court whether it's some minutes in the first half or some in the second, they not going to get experience sitting on the bench. Mulvey's 2 fouls were BS and I'll leave it at that.

Now there’s some silly logic.

We don’t have to do hockey rotations. Start them both, pull Kris after 6 put Kris back in at 10 pull Keegan Put Keegan back in at 6. Both play 30ish minutes.

most teams play their best players over 30 minutes.

I agree I think we need his minutes in the second unit, but he certainly deserves to start

I truly don’t care who starts. I care about minutes distribution and who finishes. Kris isn’t going to get many minutes at the 1 or the 5 (though he could get a few at the 5), but he should be getting 25+ minutes on the regular unless he’s in foul trouble or just having a bad night. The best 5 does vary based on opponent and hot hand, but in general, I’d say Iowa’s best 5 is Toussaint, Bohannon, Murray, Murray and Rebraca with the first 3 off the bench being Patrick, Ulis and Perkins. Mulvey should be getting a few more minutes as well.

It was a failure when the 2020 team couldn’t win a game in the tournament that wasn’t played and it also was record-breaking when Iowa lost two games in last year’s tournament.

What about anything this year tells you Mulvey of all players needs more minutes? Did you not see how over matched he was out there?

Here's what I see with Ogundele and Mulvey. Both are much bigger then Rebraca but when they get into a game no matter how much they try to get into position to receive a pass from a teammate they're both completely ignored. If that's the case they both need to set screens, play defense, and learn to get rebounding position and get garbage baskets. Neither one of them is offensively gifted as of yet.
And one other thing....looking at Josh does it appear that he has added more weight instead of losing it. Tonight he looked heavier then I remember from last week.

Interesting about Josh. He was so surprising against Purdue. He’s been getting some time but yes, looked heavier and not so agile. Gave some minutes however.

I like Kris off the bench. He still played the most minutes tied with Bohannon tonight. Who cares how they start off the game,
Are you serious?

He only played this many minutes because everyone else was in foul trouble.

He should always play this many minutes.

Hes the second best player by a wide margin.

Not playing your best players the most minutes is just idiotic.

He plays the 5 for the "second team".

Thats where the majority of his minutes come every game.

Even when he and Keegan play together Kris is the 5 on both ends.

Yes, but that’s not where he’s at his best. That said, Iowa doesn’t have to play with a true 5.

Since you are SLOW I’ll have to explain that I clearly meant replacing either of them in the starting line up. Now go read a book.
