Is Johnson hurt or was the plan for him to get a couple of matches before mff? I wouldn't give a second thought to how he looked if the plan was always 2 matches and mff.

He beat a dude from Minnesota St. in SV. That’s the Mavericks, not the Gophers. He then forfeited out of the tournament. This clearly isn’t the dude that beat Austin Gomez and Max Murin back to back. It appears he’s dealing with something potentially serious, and I’d be surprised if he goes on Saturday

One question from anyone that might have an opinion...outside of the injuries to Swiddy and Chittum...how in the hell is there such a cluster$@#& in Ames with getting guys ready and at the right weights???

The wannabees have been there for eight years and guys are out of shape, overweight, and no clear starters at 125/165/174 and we're already two weeks into the season.

And Pollard gives Dresser an extension?

Dresser definitely deserved an extension. Your hate sometimes blinds you. They beat Iowa at NCAA last year .

Dominance over ISU isn't a God-given right for Iowa. They have to continue to earn it.

He has the frame of a 165 pounder with the right attention to weight training. I hope to see him continue to get better throughout the year. People forget that he was rehabbing and not wrestling last year.

We'd all like to have been in Dresser's situation when he arrived in Ames.
That was an incredibly low bar to clear.
When the wannabes arrive in Carver this weekend, someone should hand them a "Google map", so they know where the riding time clock is!

Kale was 133 last year and wasn't big for the weight. His cut isn't horrible. Iowa has had guys cut more to make 125 in the past. Teemer can blow up in the offseason. He was looking at going 165 at ASU. Nobody is cutting a massive amount of weight.

Coming off ACL rehab and going down a weight class is no easy task in the off-season I'm sure. Kudos to him for doing it for the better of the team.

Whoa, whoa - I never said it was a giant cut.

But it would also be disingenuous to say it AIN'T a cut. Not the biggest, sure. But it's clearly affecting him a bit. I think he'll end up like Drake last year - it gets easier as he just naturally atrophies and gets used to the weigh ins.

I think what actually happened is KD has brought in some high profile 25/26 high schoolers that ISU has little chance in signing because their NIL budget is crap.
So, he goes to Pollard and tells him those kids want reassurance that the staff will be around for a long time.
No AD likes hiring new coaches and ISU likely won't do any better than what they currently have.
Hence...a new extension.

Come on man. He definitely deserved that extension. Program is definitely trending in the right direction and a far cry from what KJ's bum azz did there.
