Little brother not so little anymore?

We agree that there were no seats in that area previously. Can we agree that for that specific area tickets have been sold in the past? Whether it was for the new 'seats' or for the grass hillside, either way season tickets were available for that space. A question how many total tickets are for sale this year? Not necessarily 'seats' but total tickets allowed to be sold.
61,000.

Do I know for sure? Nope. I don't know much of anything for sure. ;)

But can you recall a year when sales were good and the AD didn't issue press release(s) about it? This year we've seen nothing like that.
I don't recall them being as open about sales in recent years as they used to be in the early Pollard years. It seems the releases are rare and later than they used to be. I thought somebody on Cyclone Report actually counted available seats from the site that lets you pick your seat when you buy season tickets. I'll have to see if I can find that post and report back.

Making sure we don't get too caught up in the word game 'more tickets to sell this year' I believe this is inaccurate, those 'seats' did not exist last year is true but was there a cap on the hillside season tickets for sale last or in previous years? With no 'seats' there my guess is they would sell as many they realistically could fit in there and a little more. So hang your hat on the physical 'seat' aspect if you like but the number of tickets for sale may have actually gone down some this year.
They did start to cap sales after overselling a few years back to the point people demanded their money back. I think they figured out what those hillsides could reasonably hold. If you look at the sold out games in recent years they all have the same reported attendance to the person. They have about 6000 more tickets to sell this year than last year. Two corners which were hillside tickets before SEZ construction are now regular seats, but they added additional seats beyond what they took away on the hillsides.

I don't know if the school started including standing room because it was told to do so by the NCAA or if somebody just decided to do it
The NCAA changed the way capacity was figured. Previously you could only count permanent seats as capacity, which was kind of ridiculous since Iowa State sold tickets in areas with no seats.

It isn't Kinnick and never will be. Our new football facility is light years ahead of theirs as well. The way most of our facilities are.

I am surprised that isu will have the 3rd largest stadium in the B12. I guess when they came up with the name of the conference it wasn't in reference to stadium size.
The 3 rd largest in the B 12 and the new coach in the conf. in 2016.

If they ever got a decent coach he would be using ISU as a stepping stone just like Hoiberg did. No decent coach is staying in Ames.

Well this is just flat out wrong.

Hoiberg said all along he wanted to bring ISU back to prominence which he did. He also had told Jamie Pollard all along to coach in the NBA was his dream.

Sure....and Chizik said he would only leave isu for Auburn then Sanderson said he would only leave for the PSU job as well right?

Hey Is It, I love Pollards newest billboard. "Come to isu, we have more enrollment than Iowa but we will spend less on your education."

Iowa needs Kirkwood to fulfill their student ticket allotment. Kinnick will be unbelievably crazy with all of the underage associate or arts majors screaming at the top of their lungs when the hoks come out of the tunnel. Actually, it will be an upgrade from Vodka Sam. Well done, big brother, well done.

Kirk Ferentz is the best thing to happen to Iowa State... ever.

Two win, two win oh ah. Two win, two win oh ah. "Forever One." Win your Super Bowl against Iowa and you can coach forever at isu.

Oh and hey why is isu selling club seats as single game tickets? Big Brother has never had to do that.

No, you're right. Keep defending your beloved hoks at all cost. You guys are obviously on the right track. Carry on...

Don't throw stones in glass houses. Look at your dumpster fire of a program. Talk about being on the right track ISU is far from that. Even during a disappointing season Iowa has more wins than ISU has in the last 2 seasons combined.

Says a clone fan who is all for 5 wins not in one year but TWO.

Now tell us again why isu has to sell single game tickets for a new club section if they are so awesome. No one will laugh through really.

Iowa also has reached out to about 1,700 organizations for single-game group sales.

I am not defending ISU's record, moron. No ISU fan commenting here has/was. What I am defending is the arrogance around your program's "success" is only because of SOS. My argument since p. 1 of this stupid thread is that there is not a tavernhawk fan that would trade SOS with ISU the last 15 yrs. And now your beloved hok team is selling tickets to your alma mater? Really!?!?!?!? Win-win for you, I guess.

Your SOS argument is false, especially if you want to go back 15 years! Stupid thread and posts not based on fact? Here is the SOS ranking as far back as I could easily find. You guys are just killing us here....?

03-04 Iowa 21, ISU 55
04-05 Iowa 17, ISU 80
05-06 Iowa 9, ISU 15
06-07 Iowa 51, ISU 68
07-08 ISU 49, Iowa 85
08-09 Iowa 55, ISU 66
09-10 Iowa 17. ISU 74
10-11 Iowa 34, ISU 54
11-12 ISU 16, Iowa 30
12-13 ISU 43. Iowa 55
13-14 Iowa 29, ISU 47
14-15 ISU 41, Iowa 46 (Currently)

Oh my goodness how dare they take a pro active approach to sell seats with decrease in season tix that everyone in the state knows about.

ISU fans can say all they want but even with their new 61k stadium Iowa has reached that figure the last decade Plus for home games. It's like Iowa fans patronizing Michigan for not filling the big house last year when they still had more fans at games then kinnick holds.

SOS is meaningless. If it wasn't the Big 12 wouldn't be owned in the post season as it does for football and MBB.

But by all means tell us how it really is. No one will laugh really.

SOLD OUT of FB Mini-packs! Predict more sellouts this week. Cyclone fans are the best! Can't wait to set new attendance record.

As always clone fans will ignore any and all facts that proves their arguments bogus. Didn't you get the memo, SOS matters only when clone fans say so.

Chalk up another stereotype validated. isu fans are only left with arguments where they can be selective in time frames.

I win again.

Wow you sold out a 61k stadium. Rest of college football must be so envious.

Again even with down ticket sales Iowa still sells more than 61k last decade plus. Post same analogy it's like Iowa fans throwing jabs at Michigan for not selling out their stadium yet they still have more people attending then the capacity at kinnick. Are we suppose to be amazed that many clone fans come out to see a losing team?

Where is Pollard's famous thermometer showing how many "mini-packs" he sold when he discounted the ticket prices?

Quit laughing I4 is SO PROUD.

Iowa State coach on the hot seat= rise in ticket sales
Iowa coach on the hot seat= decline in ticket sales

One is content, the other wants change.

feel free to link how the kirkwood cc sales are going

Called it. I4 has no answer for "come to isu where we have more enrollment than Iowa but we will spend less on your education."

He also can't tell us why isu is so awesome that they have to sell single game tickets to fill their brand new club section.

I win.

Hurry clone fans the discounted season tickets that cost $175 and $250 in the end zone are going quickly.

But wait I thought isu was so awesome that they didn't need to market or discount tickets in order to sell them.

I4 will be along in four or five short hours to tell us how it really is. Or maybe he will do what all great clone fans do and just ignore what shows isu to be little bro.

Maybe Iowa should sell its three most popular tickets as a package for $99, then brag about how many tickets we sell.

Yep but according to I4 that is just brilliant marketing. Almost as brilliant as isu having to sell club seats as single game tickets. Pollard is great just ask him.
