Little League World Series is…..

At some point they need to pay the umps so they don’t have to settle for umps willing to work for free for 3-4 weeks.

You can also attend a different league if your school is in the boundary. Because of this we are in a different league than our neighbors.

The WS bracket is set!

It is ridiculous that they have ten regions for the US, causing four teams to have to play an extra game. With the pitch count/days rest regulations, those four are at a significant disadvantage.
Agree. How do they determine the seeding?

Not sure how they decided that. This is the first year with 10 regions for the US (same for the foreign teams). There had been 8 in each, they added two this year.

Of all the games I watched with the US regionals...my pick to win the Merican side is Hawaii.

I wonder if the kids were screwing around, because a 12 year old falling out of a bed seems strange?

Would bet there's more to the story.

I don't know about that

we were staying at our in-laws house a few weeks ago and my oldest (11) fell out of a bed and bruised his knee pretty good. he has a full size bed and their guest room only has two singles. I'm guess a bunk bed is probably a very small bed and if a kid is used to being able to fully roll over it's easy to see how it could happen.

i'm shocked they wouldn't have railing though...unless of course it didn't occur while he was sleeping

looks like we might be starting late due to rain

Italy and Taipei went under (a 2nd) lightning delay around 1:55 CT. They’re only in 3rd inn or so.

ESPN has Iowa following that game, but I’m not sure if they’re scheduled on the same field or they’ll move the Iowa game to ESPN2 or ESPNews. I’m just guessing here, but Iowa is going to follow the Italy / Taipei game which has a ways to go.

That was a strike…the call seems to have thrown him off
That was a missed strike three call by one of those "volunteer" umps.

JFC... it's the LLWS, pay to get some top level officiating and shit like this doesn't happen. ESPN is paying to broadcast these games. The $$$ has to be there.
