Liz Truss Resigns As British Prime Minister

That was quick
A bunch of missteps in a short time. Labour is calling for immediate elections, but it seems like part of the move by Truss was her stepping down allows for a new PM to be chosen by the Conservatives, and avoid an election for a year.
In short, she was selected by her party, and now they are making her walk the plank in order to save the job for their party.

This is quite possibly the most wrong headed thing I’ve read on here in awhile.

What’s failing is progressivism. Hence the move to Europe and the US rightward.

Umm the UK is going left my friend. The conservative party is crashing and Labour is booming.

Tory MP visibly furious over party chaos: 'the damage they have done is extraordinary'

How could someone fvck up this badly this quickly? Lol
Internally the UK has been on shaky ground since Brexit. They bungled that up bad. Truss came in because the Conservatives finally could not tolerate Boris Johnson anymore, but there was not a strong replacement lined up. Truss talked a good game, but then she rolled out a bunch of economic nonsense without running it through her party, or the non partisan budget people. So, out she went.

Watching a competent left wing leader hand out an ass whipping is a rare treat. It hasn't happened in this country in decades. Our faux left looks for every opportunity to appease and gain the approval of the right.
