We are only spiking the football because America is realizing that entire States run by democrats can have massive problems caused by said Democrats. It happens in cities a lot more often. Big cities tend to have Democrat run governments. We Republicans are definitely spiking the football after that big win with Trump but we certainly are not thrilled with all the loss of life and loss of property... And we think we know how to fix it but we are excited to try in the future to fix it but for now it's a bunch of grief and horrible death and loss of property... I don't think people are actually spiking the football like you think they are. Now, could they be saying see I told you so... Yeah I admit people are doing that.

Trump was president from 2016-2020. California was spending many millions every year on trying to prevent large fires. Clearing brush, old growth. But California has 33million acres of forest. More of those than not being federally owned.
What did Trump and the republicans do to improve the already existing effort ongoing in California?

You missed my point by a mile. I got your point and supported it. I have no idea where you live and made no assumptions. I live in north Florida. I know they do controlled burns in CA.
California and specifically Los Angeles County has been unprepared for this disaster. From fire hydrants with no water, to allowing construction to take place in areas that are basically inaccessible. Santa Ana winds have been around for centuries, don't let someone tell you that climate change is causing these winds.
California gets a grade of F- for mitigating forest control. The wokers have stopped most efforts to ensure the forested areas are cleared of dead trees and debris. The Governor of California has put environmental concerns ahead of people concerns.

Of course it's not Trump's fault. My point is that if he wanted to have an impact on California's fire risk he had a great path to it via all the federal lands that make up the state. He could've made that a focus in his first stint as president.
The question is whether he made it a priority at all, if he paid any attention.

Actually I currently live in North Florida. But Iāve lived in many places and lived through many natural disasters. Some caused major loss of property.
I sincerely feel for those that experience traumatic events. It changes oneās perspective on things.
