Los Angeles On Fire

What policies are we talking about? It's probably moreso lack of planning and action than extant policy . LA was hit by an unprecedented fire and didn't have the ability meet the water demand.

You'd A) have to get Northern Cali to share their water, and B) have infrastructure to deliver it.
The fire is up to something like 50k acres. Fire hydrants weren’t going to stop this.

So why is that area running short of water in the distribution system?
Dry for many years. It is a bazzilion year shortage of precip, coupled with big population growth and tag teamed by a need in recent years for fire control H2O.
They don’t have surpluses to pull from regarding water.

Massive cope. Liberal policies are obviously to blame for yet another catastrophic failure. Good thing they tried to protect that delta smelt population though i guess..
Guess those conservative policies are to blame for Florida and North Carolina getting wiped out. Silly cons should have had preemptive measures in place to mitigate hurricanes from happening. Red state… run by red politicians… red policies.

Big difference between hurricanes and wild fires. They're basically polar opposites even lol I do recall that leftist fema director instructing her subordinates not to offer aid to houses with trump signs during that time tho..

No, just the apparent lack of emergency planning and/or putting in place potential mitigation procedures.
This is how you let the board know you are a stoop without posting you are a stoop.
You are woefully ignorant of the mitigation procedures in place.
Now, if you could help with the long term drought, things would be better. Hans/dunce.

So why is that area running short of water in the distribution system?
During his 2016 campaign, Trump used the groundwater debate in an appeal to California farmers, and during his presidency, his administration issued a rule reversing scientific findings incorporated in the Endangered Species Act that prioritizes protections for smelt over irrigation systems in times of drought, according to the New York Times. The state of California sued the Trump administration over the rule

I know, it's never the left's vault. We've all heard that one before. Many times.
You continue to flaunt ignorance and lack of thought processes. What a stoop. The post was about controlled burns on private property. Would you welcome a controlled burn on your property, studdy?

Bidumb: this is terrible what's happening to Los Angeles with these fires. But, hey, I just became a great-grandfather. Leave it to Joe to insert something about himself when others are suffering.

He did the same thing when he visited Maui after there wildfires by talking about a kitchen fire he had years ago when people just lost their homes. What a scumbag.

California is burning to a crisp and Trump is calling their governor "Newscum."

Trump takes over in just a few days. What's his solution beyond name calling?

I love it when deranged MAGAs cry about "the media" causing division. As if the biggest contributor to unreasonable political division in this country isn't Trump. He's obviously the biggest instigator and it isn't even close.

It's unimaginable that one of our most important cities is burning and the new president laughs because it's from a blue state. It's sickening. Just completely and disgustingly sick.

Personally, I love it here in SoCal.
This Is Fine GIF

The reservoirs are at good levels.
Not so sure about that, but I don’t claim great knowledge about Cali reservoir levels. The Colorado river reservoirs are sucking mud.
There are reasons that the fire fighting agencies in Cali are worried about water availibilities to deal with this massive outbreak of fires in the LA area.

The issue appears to be that residents drained the water supply at higher elevations during the initial stages of the fire and those tanks take time to refill.

Not an unfair nickname tbh

He also said he should resign (he should). Trump predicted these fires months ago on Rogan. The terrible fire management has been a known entity for some time now.
He embodies the worst in people and America. He's a trash person.
Pot meet kettle

The reservoirs are in good condition for this time of year. It’s simply too many people trying to draw all at once. Million gallon water tanks are all across the basin to meet surges in demand, but once you drain them all pressure drops and you’re playing catchup trying to refill them. The system isn’t designed for multiple generational fires happening at once.

Then why doesn't Trump or anybody on the right explain how to prevent a fire like this from happening if it's so easy?

Trump consistently criticizes people for problems he couldn't (and didn't) solve. He's a giant shit talker.

Why don't we just clear the brush?

A: There are millions upon millions of acres of brush to clear. A better answer would be not to live amongst brush & trees in dry fire prone environments. Apparently Californians are a lot like Floridians that insist on living in flood prone areas.
