major winter storm on Xmas eve?

We were at zero this a.m. but no wind.
Lost power again last night and the furnace has decided to take a rest break. Something to do with the condensate line. The system will cycle and the blower kicks in, but the igniter is not firing off… ideas?
Sounds like your exhaust pipe outside thinks it’s blocked. Checked for blockage or put a box over your exhaust line as the wind might be blowing into it. What is the wind speed in your area and is the wind blowing the direction (NW) right into your exhaust pipe?

Thanks for the note… no wind currently and the pipe does a downturn under the elevated front deck. It is basically shielded from wind by the 2 x 10 band board.
I have removed the condensate line from the pump and cleaned it out (tho it was not clogged or nasty).
I can pull the float up in the pump box to get it to come on, but it is not doing the pre-ignition purge.
BTW, the simple solution of checking the propane tank yields a half full answer.

Anyone been on I80 recently between Des Moines and Iowa City? Have to head to the in-laws in Urbandale later today. Oh boy!
Well, the sun is out. If we have a few hours of sunshine the roads will clear up. The wind is still frisky, though. Gusts up to 40mph

Sorry I can’t be of more assistance on this one. The wind and cold is causing a lot of the problems so thought it might be the problem with it not igniting.

Brother and sister in law arrived here in North Liberty from Altoona about an hour ago. Lots of cars in ditches but 80 is good now.

Appreciate your suggestions. Hope the New Year is a great one for you.
Check into the Holiday Inn and hope for the best?
Our appliance repair dude, via phone, coached me thru troubleshooting the ole Trane. I have ordered a limit switch that will hopefully arrive on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, we are making a month’s worth of carbon emissions over the next few days as I am keeping the wood stove stoked.
While fiddling with the furnace, our water froze up, so I put a trouble light with a 40 watt bulb in the well housing. A couple of hours later, voila, H2O again. I had forgotten to replace insulation after having the well pump wiring repaired on Fathers Day.
Our repair guys are making bonuses for holiday work and we are very appreciative…
Thanks again to @OutbackBowl2017 for good advice.

Hypothetically speaking, as a non-Illinois resident, if one were to wander into gummy territory, what are we talking about in terms of goods and pricing? This hypothetical person wouldn't be looking to spend $500, but rather to get a representative sample of what the good people of Illinois have to offer.
Speaking as a Des Moines resident, there is a shop next to Fong's on 4th Street downtown that has hemp derived delta 9 THC edibles (gummies, chocolates, syrups). They only have edibles for delta 9 products, the flower they sell is hemp flower and has high CBD content on top of the THCA distillate they treat it with so it is not comparable to what's available in Illinois. The edibles are comparable.

Buy a heat bulb and a (FROST KING) $20.00 thermostat, and never have frozen pipes again,

-5 tonight, and 1-3 inches of snow on Sunday night. Sunny and 28 on Tuesday will clean up the roads a lot, and mid to upper 40's for several days straight after that.
This weather is weird AF.
Looks like rain and mid 60s next Saturday for Nashville. As if the Iowa / Kentucky game could get any sloppier, imagine two offensively challenged teams playing on a sloppy field.

On my furnace, the limit switch has a small rubber hose attached to the stack, the limit switch will, can get stuck in the closed position, try blowing into the hose after removing it from the switch. Hope you get lucky with this.

well my dumbass fell in the creek behind our subdivision 🙄

hiking around with the boy and dog and crossed the creek a few times as ice was plenty thick. I slipped doing down and fell smack on the ice and broke through. Luckily it was only a foot deep. Then getting out I cut my shin on the ice.

Mrs QC had a good laugh when I got home

/facepalm

The birds are hammering the feeders today. I’d better get the suet out today.

Lots of Amazon Prime semis gracing the ditches of the Midwest if some of you are wondering where your packages are at.
There is a body shop near an Amazon center near Asheville that usually has two dozen or more bruised Amazonian in it.

Snowing pretty good all morning in Davenport. Another 2 inches maybe?
Let's call it 3. Super fluffy stuff. Kind of a pain to move it.
Sunny and 29 tomorrow in IC, then a steady string of 40+ days, and some nights where it will remain above freezing.
Bizarre.

Just warm enough to turn my backyard into a muddy mess for my dogs to play in. Fantastic.
