Maryland schedule to date; compared to Iowa

Diamond Stone is the one player that Iowa will have trouble matching up with, imo. I predict he will be a 1st round NBA after this season. He is the best freshman in the Big 10 this season by a mile.

Hes not better than AJ Hammonds, at this point its not even close, but Maryland has the guard play to get him the ball in better spots to score compared to Purdue with their bigs.

If Maryland figures out that Stone is far and away their best player we're in serious trouble. There's a ton of talent on this "team", but there's a bit of top ten sports center- me first mentality. Working the ball into Stone and letting him go to work gives them a final 4 shot.

I expect the Hawks to be a dog and the zebras to wear chef's hats for the home cooking.

I expect we will fight and if the threes are falling we've got a punchers chance.

Hes not their best player, Trimble is, but Stone might be their best scoring option on a consistent basis. Not sure about that though.

Depends on the Maryland team that shows up. From what I've seen, Maryland plays down to the competition at times.

There is no reason they shouldn't be a top 5-10 team and no top 5-10 team at home should be a gimme.

This is going to be a war. Just hope the refs aren't letting more go on as they have the last week or so.....Maryland has some thick bodies.

One of the good things about this team is we can play fast or slow, can bang or play no touch allowed, and defend pressing, in man and in zone.

If Sapp is allowed to play physical on Trimble that could help. I don't sense Trimble plays hard for 40 minutes and he can get careless with the ball from what I've seen. He'll make the sports center pass one play and turn it over the next.

Up tempo, get them in foul trouble, match their intensity.

Our offense is efficient enough that I think it puts the burden on teams to match it on the offensive end. Can Maryland do this for 40 minutes? I don't think they are an elite defensive team, but often the most desperate team wins when the talent is similar. Can Iowa match their intensity? I think our guys realize this is one of the bigger litmus tests left on our regular season schedule and it's going to be a great game. Should feel like an NCAA tournament game if both teams bring the energy and focus I think they will.

Maryland by 3 I think, but if we can get some outside shooting from Baer, Uhl and Gesell we can pull it out easily enough.

Hawks will get the Terps' best shot. This would be another very impressive win, and put Iowa in a great position for the B1G championship. Hawks have been doing it, so I am not going to bet against them.
