The #1 College BB recruit in the nation, Michael Porter, Jr is headed to Mizzou.
His Dad will be an Assistant at Missouri, 'coincidentally'.

But-------did Hawkeye fans know that Michael Porter's Mom was a HAWKEYE?
Lisa Becker, who hailed from Cedar Rapids is the Mom of Michael, Jr.
And he does have several brothers ?? Has Sherm visited them yet ?

GO HAWKS !
:)

The next oldest is already committed to Mizzou and Iowa has no room for him anyways.

Did you live with your relatives or your dad when you grew up?

A lot of kids want to get away from their parents in college. Anyway, I don't expect his father to stay coaching at MIssouri for more than 2-3 years. His son will go pro and he won't need the money because he will be managing his career.

No reason? They have a ton of relatives in IOWA

GO HAWKS :)

It is a possibility, but very, very remote. The family grew up/spent a ton of time in the Columbia area, it is home. Dad is coaching at Missouri. Yes, things can change but it would be a huge upset if any of the Porter children ended up anywhere but Mizzou.

Maybe that would have been a good time for Fran to shake up his coaching staff a little to help bring in some top players. I know I know Iowa doesnt go dirty. But if they did I bet most all Hawkeye fans would be defending Iowa and Fran and would be all smiles watching a team led by the Porter's contend for B1G titles and a Final Four.

Porter's a one and done. We will see how much impact he makes in one season. His dad's coaching career will likely be 'as long as my kids are playing for Mizzou and done'.

There are also two Porter daughters playing for Mizzou WBB, the coach is Lisa's sister, Robin. That family is locked into Columbia for the foreseeable future.

Which with that many it could be quite a while.

More likely, IMO, Martin wont be there all that long, just based on his history.
