Wtf was the ref stopping the match when Desanto was on bottom then keeping the clock at like 1:54 on the reset? Free 6 seconds of riding time for Gross and ate 6 seconds off the clock. Just making up rules as we go.
Makes up for the fact that Gross should have had a danger call TD but the ref didn't start counting until 3 seconds in. Bad reffing both times, but that was the theme of this tournament.
Didn't Gross get a stall warning for the leg in like the first period???

Lunger challenge from Bono. They need to go freestyle and award a point for unsuccessful challenges.
Not the best match by ADS, let Gross get in on the leg early, gave up two cheap points on the cradle and spent a lot of time tied up in neutral where Gross can take a breather. Too much rolling around with Gross.
I am not arguing that.. What I said was that the ref delayed the danger count by 3 seconds in favor of Desanto who was actually in danger for almost 5 seconds. The cradle was also a bad count which came too fast. As I said, I think the ref was inconsistent
That was an ugly match. And although it was probably officiated correctly I could have seen Gross dinged once or even twice more. That two on one Russian tie Gross was using will rarely be called for stalling, but IMO he was stalling each and every time he went to it.
Good game plan on Bono’s part I guess. I wouldn’t be proud of it tho and if the right official gets that match Gross gets at least one more stalling call and I would be in the officials ears before the match even started.

The corner should have thrown the brick. NO WAY it was a two count if the back has to be at least 45 degrees.

Just rewatched in slow motion, watching the clock and exposure as they would if it were challenged. It wasn't a 2 count. Ref swiping fast. Exposes at 1:51 and is off his back with clock still at 1:50. Would have won a challenge on that.

Aside from a sloppy 1st period by ADS, he out wrestled him. You simply can't give a guy like Gross 4 first period points and try to make it up.
With those TDs Gross neutralized his pace and slowed it down. He avoids the early mental brain farts and he probably wins.

Tell me the time stamp of when the 3 count occurred. Desanto never exposed for 3 seconds in those neutral scrambles. If he did, give me the timestamp I'd love to see it.
If that was 2 NF, then Young should have had 2 NF in his chanpionship match for sure.
Pretty good showing across the board. There were a few hiccups along the way but I’m liking the way the team is looking, not just the starters. Good springboard into the meat of the season. Go Hawks!
Yeah probably a low blow towards Gross. ADS will get next time. And that was totally a breather TO by Bono.
That was a great match in spite of everything! I can't wait to see them wrestle again. Sebass vs Gross was also great. Wondering now if Sebass and Gross will wrestle before the big 10 tournament? Seeding could be a huge advantage!
I was like wondering how Gross was up 4-1. Total b.s. Desanto kicked out of it immediately.
I asked my son way after how Gross had 4. I was incredulous.

Especially in wrestling with the lung time outs. That is a different match if Gross had to go immediately in the 2nd. He was bent over sucking wind.
He was up 5-3 and then MFF. Bloody nose. Not real sure why.
Just get rid of the challenges in football and wresting. Ruining the sports.
