******Midlands Session 3*****

The calls for stalling in Lee match couldn’t be more sour grapes. He lost. Deal with it.
Bresser is a quicker version of Jason Tsirtsis, their mission is the same, and Lee let him get away with it. It's stalling whether you want to call it that or not.

I assure you I'm way over Lee losing, as I'm clearly the one on this board that's mentioned many times that he will lose eventually (even earlier today, and mentioned Bresser's name at the time as well), and now it's here early.

Bresser didn't run and hide, and neither does Tsirtsis, they both stall their asses off however.

Again. When would that have been? 1st period, 2nd period? I missed it apparently, would like to know when and how that was possible, because he clearly was the aggressor (he said just like every other guy that has ever wrestled Tsirtsis).

It was at the end of the second if I recall. Grace was pitching a huge fit bc Tsirtsis had not taken a shot & BS was circling to the midle of the mat. I didn't say it was the correct call, I was
Just agreeing that it was called.

Anybody hear what Lewis said afterwards? He was right by the camera..

Not sure, looked like he congratulated Marinelli more than talked trash to him as they shook hands. Not sure what went on after that.

Look - You claimed that Bresser did not stall at all. I countered with facts. Even the Ref called it once and verbally warned him another. Not sure what you watched?
I didn’t think he stalled anymore than anybody else regardless of what was called. Sorry if you don’t like my opinion. You can’t bully your way to being right in anybody’s mind except your own. I’m disappointed as anybody, but don’t attack me because your butt hurts.

Lee definitely let the kid dictate the type of match that was wrestled....definitely a learning experience.... luckily it was here instead of nationals like Gilman.... pull the shirt

The fact he does not have the mobility and quickness with the knee right now is why he could not chase him down. Don't pull it.

It was, I believe, in the second. Sorensen moved Tsirtsis to the edge, Tsirtsis circled and pushed SOrensen out, the ref called Sorensen for stalling.

In the case of Bresser, you have no obligation to tie up. Burroughs was great at wrestling from space and he even backed up a ton(obviously he still had the super speed double that he scored with enough to not get called for stalling). Doing so takes away the offense of probably 95% of DI wrestlers as almost all of their offense comes from the collar tie.

Lee definitely needs to learn from this as I am sure this tactic will be copied by many of his opponents. He needs to get some sort of offense going from space, that or literally stalk his opponent forcing them to shoot and then counter.

Zahid's balance and body control is amazing. He was dead to rights there, and then nope.

Lewis gets my vote for biggest punk in the tournament....stalls for two periods... loses then talks shit at our bench....again why did the refs quit calling stalling during the semis?? I was impressed with the officiating in the earlier rounds

Bresser should have had AT LEAST one stall call on the feet. Lee stalked him and chased him, quite literally, all over the mat. There was also no change from when he hit Bresser with stalling on bottom. Should have hit him again. Official was in over his head.

my butt don't hurt. It appears you want to keep replying to make you feel better. I did not attack you or call you any names - nor did I suggest your comment was insane and stupid. Only provided facts against your comment. I did not even want to argue about it. Happy New Year H-nut

Stalking doesn’t score points. If you want to get takedowns or stall calls, you need to make offensive attempts.

A lot of you guys complain because guys stall and back up all the time. However, if they did not do that to get new ties etc, every Iowa match would look like BS and Tsirtis. IMHO They just get head position and an elbow and push on each other.

When guys like Lewis or Bresser back up to get a new tie and the Hawk comes charging in, it sets off a chain reaction that just keeps repeating. Makes for a boring match and both guys can be equally blamed. IMHO

Maybe, maybe not. But, my point still remains. Lee needs to be ready for guys that wrestle from space and has to find a way to generate offense against these types. It is probably gonna be a tactic that he will have to deal with often moving forward.

But Lee wasn’t doing much on top either. Bresser was circling, Lee just riding. I talked Lee up to my kids and that was the first match they saw. Lee was outshot first period, and didn’t get a takedown the whole match.
You’re slipping. I’ve made my kids watch every Lee match this year and they’ve loved them all. And we’ll be there at Carver cheering for him during his Hawkeye debut Friday night.

Better to learn that lesson now than in March.

I agree. Just because you push a guy all over the mat, does not mean you are trying to score. It means you are trying to get a stall call. Take some shots and then see what happens.

If you don't think Jason Tsirtsis backs up you haven't been paying attention, therefore the rest of your commentary is meaningless.

How many times have you seen Tsirtis and BS on a knee or in very low stances and neither of them is moving? They are there quite often when they wrestle each other.
