Yeah i dont understand the panic. The only "gimme" in ncaa tourney is 1st round generally. No 7 seeds are always going to be borderline top 25 teams. And kansas has covid problems. Im excited about this

I love Iowa’s draw. Rather face Oregon in round 2 instead of a team like Rutgers/Clemson, which Houston got. This is of course hoping to beat GC in round 1

YEah I looked at their roster. Their good center is out with knee. So the rest is like a 6'11 fresman who doesn't play and a bunch of Jarrod Cole type of forwards. Good luck with that lineup against Garza
We will see what happens. Iowa can play with anyone...but reality is we have exactly one elite win all season. We struggled mightily in 3 out of 4 games against mediocre Wisky and Penn State, and lost 3 out of 4 to bad Minny and IU teams. Reality...our resume is not that spectacular. We have proven we could lose to just about anyone. But it definitely will be nice to finally play some teams that don't have years of scouting knowledge on us (one of the few disadvantages of having so many upperclassmen).
Fun Fact if we beat Kansas we'll have more Big 12 wins than ISU

The bad news is that we're in Gonzaga's bracket, and I wonder if we might have been the lowest ranked #2 seed if the Zags were the top ranked #1 seed.
On the positive side, hopefully the Hawks will stay alive in the bracket for a good run, and who knows--maybe knock off the invincible!!!

I was at that game. Marble went nuts in 1st half and Iowa had solid lead and then folded in 2nd half. Iowa did beat
Oregon last time we played in non-conference tournament. If Iowa can't beat Oregon, they are not a great team.
Iowa lost road/neutral games to 3 of the 4 1-seeds.
If we get far enough to play Gonzaga, then the tournament will have been a success as far as I’m concerned. Gonzaga also has a history of getting upset right around the time they’d be playing Iowa 😉
Michigan not a 1 seed without Livers, IMO. Guess injuries really don’t factor in anymore
