Not bad at all. Although, it would have been nice they'd have made sure the 1 & 2 seeds in the same region hadn't already played during the season.
36th (if you just seed everyone by that ranking) would make them a 9 seed.
Agreed. Not sure what people were expecting. Going to play tough teams in tourney and we are better then all of them up until Gonzaga.
and remember, Iowa played Gonzaga pretty well. If their star player doesn't suddenly go unconscious from 3 (something he isn't great at) that was a game Iowa could have won.

I don't think Purdue is quite sweet 16 good yet, but they got a chance with Nova being their 5 seed

No, I got a previous engagement - two, possibly - on Monday and I know my luck. Iowa's 2nd round game will be scheduled during the time I won't be able to watch them.
I wondered if it was cause COVID (i couldn't find a direct answer). Everyone flies in tomorrow. That gives five days before testing before the friday games. Five days being the tyipcal period when COVID shows up.
So in theroy if you start Friday in the bubble you shuold be able to make it through without losing a team.
Could be a lot worse paths for Iowa. Kansas isn’t what they normally are, and a possible rematch against the zags. Why not

I like the bracket.....going to face tough teams no matter where they send the Hawks, this one is as good as any!
They’ve got that Omoruyi guy who used to play at Rutgers. RSSr and pretty athletic, but Garza should be pretty familiar with his game

Grand Canyon has a front court that can give Garza trouble. They are one of the few mid-major teams that you can say that about.
Illinois with a tough 8 seed in Loyola, I would take Oregon over them in a heartbeat
You think Alabama and Houston were ranked above Iowa? I'm guessing Iowa would have been in the Illini or Michigan bracket if not for the unofficial rule that 1 and 2 seeds aren't from the same conference. So Ohio States win against Michigan pushed OSU past Iowa. Seems pretty simple.
If Iowa loses to Grand Canyon, they don’t belong in the tournament. That being said, the Hawks still can’t take them lightly.
