Nebraska AD Trev Alberts has announced that the Nebraska athletic department has signed a 7-year contract extension with Scott Frost following today's 26-17 loss to Ohio State.
Alberts: "Our fans have been thrilled with our many close losses this season. It has shown the great growth in our program, and the moral victories have been deeply satisfying. Today's loss was the best one yet. We trailed the #5 team in the country by 6 points for, like, a bunch of the second half.
We have the best 3-7 team in the country. Let me repeat: we have the best 3-7 team in the country. That is the kind of thing that Nebraskans take great pride in, and can hang their hats on. We think now is the time to reward Scott and his assistants. Now they can put their full focus on losing to Wisconsin and Iowa without any distractions."
Contract terms were not disclosed, but inside sources say the buyout amount is staggering.
