Nebraska PBP

It's all between the ears for Carton. He was right there, but seemed content to lose a close one. Almost inexplicably cuts him when Abidin is gassed and he had a great chance to ride him out and go to OT. Cuts him and makes a half-hearted shot. Then, content to sit there in a tie and not shoot for the last 10 seconds. He has the physical tools. Just doesn't have the killer instinct to close out a win against a quality opponent. Doesn't seem like he hates losing all that much. Hopefully he gets over that mental hump, because I really think he has potential.

BTN student U announcers seem pretty good so far. Keeps calling it a 'Wizzer' though. "Carton with some fight left in him!" at the end of the 2nd. I'd hope so.

Doing a great job. Both guys pretty knowledgeable.

He's Kelly reincarnated--a decent wrestler who finds a way to lose.

Ironside says point deducted from Neb for unsportsmanlike conduct at the end of the Cooper match.

Looked to me like Clark had to deal with a bit of after the whistle action as well.

I think he has more natural talent than Kelly, but it's a good comparison. So many times this season, he's been in great scoring position and has managed to give up points rather than scoring. It's about 95% mental for him, IMO, but without that will to win, nobody's going to get very far. Hope that lightbulb goes on for him.

I have it on good authority that this was the shortest intermission in the history of college wrestling.

165 Rhoads vs Wilson
Computer froze so I didn't realize we had started and it sounds like it is 0-0 so, I'm good.

What ever happened to the cross face?! Highly effective in D1. Berger is in deep, Cooper content to wrap around the torso, relying on strength when he is such a long dude and leverage is there for him. I am surprised so few guys use a cross face at this level.

I think I can count on one hand the number of fully committed shots by Rhoads this season. Just not getting the offense off. Not wrestling with much confidence. See 141.

I think our coaches know their guy...Bet Cooper doesn't take much sh*t and is not much of a talker about it. Hey TR, you catching this stuff? Nebby even got a point deducted.

I saw many of them at the IIAC duals yesterday.

165 is such a gaping hole in our lineup, it's disgusting.

Agree. Seems like Paddock has been pencilled in this spot since he committed, but just hasn't progressed as fast as we would have liked. Marinelli, Young, Troy coming to rectify the hole. May need Marinelli next year.

As much the ref's fault as Tyler's. Didn't step in when time ran out.
